I just now realized stars exist, which y’know, BOOST DUNGEON GEAR BY 50%. Gonna rewrite this thing to make up for my previous guide, and no, I still have no idea how to play berserk. This is a progression guide, not an all-knowing guide, so please comment if there’s any items other than the ones I mentioned that are better.
Forgot to mention while I was writing this, but this is NOT meant for ironman players. I have fragged armor in here that you CAN NOT obtain before completing the next floor, so therefore the calculations may be off if you play on ironman. Along with this I am talking about 5* items, you cannot ask people to essence trade/buy from the bazaar so getting 5* items will be exponentially harder. You can attempt using this as it may be somewhat useful, but I don’t suggest using it.
Entrance floor
Undungeonized Fierce Unstable Dragon Armor with an AoTD reforged as per your choice. Standard start, nothing good is gained here. Get at least 150 magical power and sb level 50 before you start doing dungeons so you don’t be an ape in ape finder. You’re not gonna be able to clear fast until f4, so if you want to clear faster then switch classes to mage (Dreadlord, bonzo staff, spirit scepter) or archer (entrance and f1 exclusive, dragon shortbow)
Floor 1
You’ll likely be around catacombs 3 when you enter this floor if you repeat runs on entrance. You CAN do entrance floors over and over to 3 star all your undungeonized armor and your sword, but a 6% boost on your unstable isn’t gonna make you AverageSweat. If you feel as if you’re struggling to survive but still want some damage you can get 50/50 5* fierce heavy armor which will have a 62% boost in dungeons (If it’s additive. If not, leave a comment below.).
Comparing both with g5p5, 3* Fierce Unstable gives 4685 ehp, 47 CC, 140 CD, 42 Str and 27 Int
5* Fierce heavy armor (lowest floor armor with 50% boost from 50/50) gives 2550 ehp while in dungeons… Just did the calculations btw. Don’t use heavy armor I guess???
TL;DR: Still use Fierce Unstable and your AoTD, fact check this if the bonus from stars is multiplicative instead of additive.
Floor 2: Adaptive Blade
I really hope you saved a fair amount of wither essence, because unlike my previous guide it’s actually useful! You’re likely gonna have at least catacombs 6 by now so you’ll get a 50% boost and a 25% boost.
I’m gonna go with multiplicative anyways for this point onwards for higher numbers so dungeon items can be compared, but I’m digressing. Just know this info can be wrong.
You get Fragged Adaptive Blade now, 190 damage, 35 strength, and 5 speed. With a 50% boost then 25% boost (87.5% boost but still gonna use multiplicatively for consistent results), this totals to 356 damage, 66 strength, and 9 speed, which blows 3* AoTD out of the water (239 damage and 106 strength). Nothing else of interest on this floor, new talismans tho.
TL;DR: You get adaptive blade on this floor, replace your AoTD with that.
Floor 3: Adaptive armor
You should be catacombs 10 by now, giving you a 50% boost and 45% boost, or a 117.5% boost in total.
Now you get adaptive armor, one of, if not the most, slept on armor sets in the game! With 35 strength per piece while playing berserk, this armor set is incredible for damage.
With fierce fragged 5* adaptive you’ll have a total of 172 base strength, 20 CC, and 56 CD. With the boost in stats you’ll be getting 374 strength, 30 CC (Unaffected by cata level but affected by stars) and 122 CD. This is a major improvement over unstable in terms of damage, but what about health?
With fragged fierce adaptive g5p5 you’ll be getting base stats of 855 health and 325 defense. With stars and cata boost that will be a total of 1860 health and 707 defense, or 15000 EHP! Insane for f3, should be able to carry you, and it has amazing damage stats. This is without HPBs too, so if you’re willing to spend an extra 2m you can get 40 health and 20 extra defense per piece, or 160 health and 80 extra defense total!
TL;DR: Adaptive armor is slept on, 15k ehp and good damage stats. HPB it since it is amazing until you beat f5.
Floor 4: SPIRIT BOW!
You should be cata 13 here btw.
Finally, an ACTUAL CLEARING ITEM for berserkers! You get the spirit bow on this floor, and no, the spirit sword is not useful for berserkers. You get like a 10% dps increase for the cost of, y’know… 8M! You can get it, but just wait until f5 which is where you get the livid dagger and shadow fury.
TL;DR: All the loot here is useless except for spirit bow.
Floor 5: Actually good items for bers
You should be cata 17 here btw.
This floor is a treasure trove for bers players. Here you get livid dagger, a direct upgrade from your adaptive blade, fragged shadow fury which is ANOTHER direct upgrade, and the holy grail of juju nons: 3/4 SA. Or 4/4 if you want it’s (Kinda garbage) set bonus.
1: Livid dagger compared to adaptive blade
At this stage 5* fragged adaptive blade gives 539 damage, 99 strength, and 14 speed.
5* Livid dagger gives 595 damage, 170 strength, 150 Crit Chance, 142 crit damage and 75% attack speed. This is a clear cut choice since it only costs around 7m and has more damage, strength, and tons of other stats. The only thing you’re losing out on is 14 speed, but in dungeons you’ll be holding a juju for half the run so it doesn’t really matter. Speaking of a juju, before I forget…
2: GET A JUJU! Berserk sucks at clearing, which is the main reason people clown on it. Get a juju so you can do the 1 thing berserk can’t do: Clear.
3: 5* fragged Adaptive blade compared to 5* fragged Shadow Fury.
At this stage 5* fragged adaptive blade gives 539 damage, 99 strength, and 14 speed.
5* fragged shadow fury gives 879 damage, 454 strength, 113 speed (I don’t remember if speed is affected with scaling so we’re going with yes) and 170 CD. This is a CLEAR CUT increase in EVERYTHING, including the price tag (50m). If you can afford this it may be a wise choice, but you can also just improve your juju…
4: 5* Livid Dagger vs. 5* Fragged Shadow Fury
5* Livid dagger gives 595 damage, 170 strength, 150 Crit Chance, 142 crit damage and 75% attack speed.
5* fragged shadow fury gives 879 damage, 454 strength, 113 speed, and 170 CD.
Livid Dagger has a theoratically higher dps (Honestly don’t know, I don’t own either of these. I’m a juju non who doesn’t play berserk) due to its insane attack speed buff, but shadow fury is the clear cut in single hit due to having like a 50% higher damage stat. Shadow fury is likely the better choice for dps but I haven’t tested either of these, but livid dagger is easily better for cost efficiency.
5: Fragged 5* Fierce Shadow Assassin g5p5 vs Fragged 5* Fierce Adaptive Armor g5p5 HPB
Health stats for SA
Fragged Fierce SA g5p5 HPB has 1235 health and 450 defense, or 6793 EHP. With 5* and catacombs that is 19258 EHP.
Damage stats for SA
Fragged Fierce SA gives 160 strength, 172 CD, 24 CC, and 32 speed. With cata boost and stars that is 454 strength, 488 CD, 36 CC and 48 speed.(previous 2 only affected by stars)
Health stats for Adaptive
Fragged Fierce Adaptive armor HPB g5p5 gives 935 health and 405 defense, or 4722 EHP. With cata scaling and 5* that is 13387 EHP, so SA is better by 5871 EHP.
Damage stats for Adaptive
Fragged Fierce Adaptive Armor gives 172 strength, 20 CC, and 56 CD. With cata scaling and 5* that is 488 strength, 30 CC (unaffected by scaling), 159 CD and 170 intel.
SA is missing out on 34 strength and 170 intel, but it is winning by 6 CC, 432 CD and 48 speed.
Notes: I forgot to input the adaptive set bonus, but it’s like a 6% buff at cata 17 and SA is already a clear cut winner.
Section TL;DR: Full SA is a clear cut upgrade from Adaptive in terms of damage and EHP.
6: 50/50 ZK 5* CP HPB vs Fragged Adaptive 5* CP HPB
Obviously you’re not gonna use 4/4 SA (Unless you’re ballin, if you are ballin then go for it!), so let’s compare whether you should use adaptive CP or 50/50 ZK 5* CP.
I will develop this guide later, I have stuff to do.
