The Astraea is a LEGENDARY Sword. It is one of four refined Necron's Blade variants, alongside the Valkyrie, Hyperion and Scylla. The Astraea's strength when compared to the other Necron's Blade variants is its additional 250 ❈ Defense and 20 ❂ True Defense.

The Astraea also grants +1 ❁ Damage and +2 ❈ Defense per  Catacombs level of the player. As with any Necron's Blade, it deals +50% damage to ☠ Wither mobs.

It is often regarded as the best weapon in the game for resisting attacks while in melee combat, making it ideal for the Tank class. Although it deals less damage than a Valkyrie or even Scylla, the Astraea's defensive stats make it a compelling choice for anyone involved in melee combat who is struggling with survival.

Usage

It can be crafted into another Necron's Blade variant using the corresponding recipe, keeping all enchantments and upgrades, though the other items used in the recipe are consumed.

It can have Necron's Blade Scrolls applied to it, granting their effects on right click.

Trivia

• In Greek Mythology, Astraea is a Goddess of innocence and justice, daughter of the Titans Astraeus, god of dusk, and Eos, goddess of dawn.
  • The Etymological origin of both Astraea's and Astraeus' names, and by extension the Wither Blade as well, is the Ancient Greek word ἀστήρ (astḗr), meaning Star.
• It is the only weapon which has base ❂ True Defense.
• It can be used in replacement of the Hyperion if one is having trouble surviving.
• Astraea and Scylla both grant the most unique stats out of any sword in the game, at 6.
• Donating an Astraea to the Museum gives credit for  Necron's Blade (Unrefined).
  • The best way to get credit for all 5 items with the minimum amount of donations is to donate a  Hyperion.
