Attributes

Attributes are special powers found through  Hunting.

Mechanics

Attributes are obtained in multiple ways:

•  Hunting mobs with Fishing Nets, Lassos, or Black Holes.
• Killing mobs
  • Charming with the Hunting skill.
  • Having a Salt active.
  • Using the Charmed Attribute. (Naga Shard)
• Using Huntraps in certain locations.
• As chest rewards in Kuudra and Dungeons.
• Fusing with the Fusion Machine.
• Reward from Tree Gifts.
• Purchased from Agatha and Kiara.

Attributes begin at Level I (1) and can be upgraded up to Level X (10). The level of an Attribute is upgraded by syphoning Attribute Shards in the Hunting Box: different rarities will require differing amounts of Attribute Shards to max out an Attribute.

Attributes can be turned on or off in the Attribute menu.

Requirements

Most Attributes require the following  Hunting levels to Syphon:

• COMMON – 0
• UNCOMMON – 5
• RARE – 10
• EPIC – 15
• LEGENDARY – 20

Attributes that existed prior to  Hunting have no requirement, except for Attack Speed ( Burningsoul Shard), which has the standard  Hunting 20 requirement. In addition, Bayou Biter ( Titanoboa Shard) also has no requirement.

Leveling

Attribute Shards can be syphoned to the Hunting Box by right-clicking while holding them. Left-clicking an Attribute in the Hunting Box syphons it and contributes towards leveling up its respective Attribute.

The amount of Attribute Shards required to reach max level for each rarity of an Attribute is as follows:

Attribute Fusion

5 Attributes can be fused to create new Attributes. Reptilian and Amphibian Attributes only require 2 to fuse. The resulting fusions can be previewed before confirming. Both sets of Attributes are consumed in the process.

Trivia

• Prior to 0.23, Attributes were bound to items. Items could be fused together at Igor or Alwin to increase their level.
• Attribute Shards generally follow the Forest, Water, Combat pattern when ordered by ID. Gaps in IDs likely exist as a reservation for future shards of the corresponding category.
  • There are a few exceptions to this rule:
    •  Fenlord Shard (E7) is Water instead of the expected Forest
    •  Hellwisp Shard (E29) is Combat instead of the expected Water
    •  Starborn Shard (L44) used to be Combat instead of the expected Water, but this was changed.
• The Battle Frog attribute may be a reference to Battletoads.
• Blazing Resistance's head icon is an upside-down version of the Plushie Blaze Skin.
• Charmed head icon is Duke Fishron from Terraria.
• The Lifeline Attribute may be based off a League of Legends passive of the same name, with similar activation requirements and effects.
• The Unlimited Power Attribute may be a reference to Star Wars, specifically a quote in Revenge of the Sith by Darth Sidious.
• The Vitality Attribute used to be called Mending, despite the fact that it boosts ♨ Vitality rather than ☄ Mending.
