The Broodmother acts like a normal Spider, attacking any nearby players.

The Broodmother spawns four or five Cave Spiders on death. This is the only place they spawn on Public Islands.

Trivia

• The Broodmother is a very weak boss, often compared in general difficulty to the Revenant Horror Tier I.
• Killing the Broodmother for the first time gives the Achievement "A good spider is a dead spider", worth 10 Achievement points.
• Damage to the Broodmother is capped at 300 per hit for most weapons.
• The Broodmother, unlike other bosses, can appear in a Runic version, which gives it 24000 ❤ Health.
• When waiting for the Broodmother to spawn, it is recommended to wear a Slime Hat, mount a Rock Pet or posess an Intimidation Artifact, to avoid being pushed off the cliff by Spider Jockeys, Silverfish or other Spiders.
