The Catalyst is a RARE Minion Fuel item that increases minion resource generation by ×3 for 3 hours, meaning it increases minion efficiency by 200%. It triples the resources the minions would normally get from harvesting a block or a mob, therefore it doesn't actually have an impact on the time between actions. It is unlocked at End Stone IX.

While not having an impact on the time between actions of a minion, Diamond Spreading will still apply to the extra drops gained from its bonus.

This can be upgraded to the Hyper Catalyst.

Trivia

• Using a catalyst on a minion for the first time awards the "At the speed of light" Achievement.
• Catalysts used to be commonly used to craft beacons. However, in an update, they removed the ability to use a Day Crystal, Night Crystal, Catalyst, or Saving Grace to craft a Beacon.
• For some reason, the rarity of Catalysts is lower than that of the Crystal Fragment used to craft it.
