Hypixel SkyBlock 0.20.8 - Pesthunter's Wares, Chocolate Factory Additions, and more!

Updated: 2024/November 19

Hello!

Welcome to Hypixel SkyBlock Patch 0.20.8. Today's update includes a general update to Pests, some Garden balancing, and a Chocolate Factory update that lets you take breaks from Hoppity without any downtime.

Read on for all the details!

► Pesthunter's Wares[]

Accessed through Pesthunter Philip, the Pesthunter’s Wares is a unique shop that uses pests as currency. The aim of this is to add a bit more depth to pest farming and create more space for strategization within farming. So, fill up your vacuum and then take a gander over to Philip if you’d like to see what the store… has in store.

In addition to the preexisting accessory line, the following items are now up for grabs, so long as you’ve got enough pests to offer up in exchange.

  • Biohazard Armor: An upgrade to Mushroom Armor that gives Bonus Pest Chance
  • Pesthunter's Gloves: Equipment piece that grants Bonus Pest Chance and a decreased spawn cooldown for Pests
  • Pest Trap: Can be placed in your Garden to catch pests while you’re away. Capacity of 2 pests.
  • Mouse Trap: Can be placed in your Garden to catch pests while you’re away. Capacity of 3 pests and is 3x as likely to catch Field Mice.
  • A Beginner's Guide to Pesthunting: When applied to an armor piece upgrades Pesterminator V to VI
  • Hedgehog Pet: Farming Pet that lets you kill Pests faster (even during Derpy) and makes them drop more crops
  • Pesthunter's Lair Barn Skin: A cool new Barn Skin for the most determined of Pesthunters! (purchased from Pesthunter Philip)

➥ Pest and Mouse Traps[]

Purchased from the Pesthunter’s Wares, up to 3 Pest Traps can be placed down in your Garden. Fill them with bait (Plant Matter, Dung, etc.), and you might just come back to find the trap’s caught a pest while you were away! Pest Traps and Mouse Traps will catch a pest every 15 minutes, so long as they're filled with bait.

You can click on an active trap that you’ve placed to peer inside and see which pests are stuck within. Pest Traps have a capacity of 2 pests while Mouse Traps, a more costly upgrade, have a max capacity of 3 and are also 3x as likely to catch an elusive new pest - the Field Mouse!

➥ New Pest: Field Mouse[]

The Field Mouse is a special type of pest that can only be caught in traps. Rare as it is, you’ll only have a 2.4% chance of spawning in a Pest Trap and 7% chance of appearing in a Mouse Trap, though these changes are increased by Enderman Slayer 9’s perk affecting the odds of finding elusive mobs.

Among its other drops, the Field Mouse introduces two new items to the game:

  • Squeaky Toy → The first equipment reforge to grant both Farming Fortune and Bonus Pest Chance.
  • Squeaky Mousemat → A utility item that allows you input your desired pitch and yaw and then snap to them at the click of a button.

➥ Changes to Wheat[]

As a precursor to the pest drop balancing mentioned below, we would first like to mention we have reworked how wheat’s recipes work in order to bring it more in line with other crops throughout the game, such as Pumpkin.

  • Enchanted Hay Bales (old version) and Tightly-Tied Hay Bales have been replaced with Enchanted Wheat and Enchanted Hay Bales (new version)
  • They are crafted with x160 Wheat and x160 Enchanted Wheat respectively (like most other recipes)
  • All places in the game that previously used Enchanted Hay Bales (old version) and Tightly-Tied Hay Bales now use Enchanted Wheat and Enchanted Hay Bales (new version)
  • Added a legacy trades menu accessible through /ltrades that allows players to trade in the old versions of items for new ones (right now it only has Enchanted Hay Bales (old version) and Tightly-Tied Hay Bales).

➥ Pest Drop Balancing[]

As part of this update, we have revisited all pest crop drops - both guaranteed and RNG, and made a number of adjustments to bring pests in line with each other and ensure they’re providing a similar amount of Garden milestone progress. The new tables can be found below.

► Chocolate Factory Additions[]

Hoppity has made a few calls and has made the necessary arrangements to allow players to now collect eggs even when they're not online during Hoppity's Hunt.

➥ Rabbit Hitman[]

The Rabbit Hitman is now available to all players right at Chocolate Factory I, and will collect eggs for you if you weren't around to grab them yourself during Hoppity's Hunt.

The Rabbit Hitman has 28 slots for eggs, which can be purchased for coins. Whenever you miss an egg during an active Hoppity's Hunt, the Rabbit Hitman will automagically gather it for you if it has an open slot. Eggs can then be opened through the Hitman's Menu. Once you open a egg from one of the Hitman's slots, it will go on cooldown (stacks in increments of 20 minutes). Lime Dye are open slots while Red Dye are slots on cooldown.

➥ Rabbit Hotspots[]

From now on during Hoppity's Hunt, each Rabbit will be assigned a Hotspot, which is an island they will be 50% more likely to appear in. Hotspots change each hunt, and enable players to specifically target the rabbits they need. You can see which Rabbits have what Hotspots from within your Hoppity's Collection menu.

Some new "Resident Rabbits" have also been added to the game. These rabbits can only be found on certain islands, as they like these islands very much and consider them home. Rabbits that are considered Residents can be easily identified in the Hoppity's Collection menu. The Achievement Rabbits that have requirements tied to specific islands are now also Residents of that island.

➥ Other Chocolate Factory Changes[]

  • Added two new items to the Chocolate Shop
    • Choco Minion Skin: Applies a Choco Rabbit Skin to any Minion (costs 2.5B Chocolate)
    • Hot Chocolate Mixin: Grants +15 Pet Luck and +0.05x Chocolate Multiplier (costs 1.5B Chocolate)
  • Buffed the Rabbit Shrine from 1 > +2% chance to find a new rabbit (per level)
  • Buffed the Chocolate accessory line from 1 > +2% chance to find a new rabbit (per tier)
  • Chocolate Eggs will now persist for an extra SkyBlock Day during Hoppity's Hunt
    • This effectively means that there are 6 Eggs available at any given time, rather than 3
  • Added two new Achievement Rabbits
    • Morty: Find 15 different eggs in the Dungeon Hub
    • Carrot: Defeat the Carrot King Sea Creature
  • Stray Rabbits are now guaranteed to spawn within the first 30s after opening a Chocolate Egg
  • Chocolate Dye now costs 4B -> 40B Chocolate and has an annual stock of 4 -> 1
  • Added a chat message for when you have met the requirements for an Achievement Rabbit
  • You are now able to shift-click towers to level them up 10 times (once you are Chocolate Factory II)

► Update on Crimson Isle Changes[]

The changes related to Crimson Isle have been cut from today’s release as they are not quite ready to go, but you can rest assured - they’re not going anywhere. We’re targeting to have the changes back on the Alpha Network along with an Alpha/Design thread posted regarding the changes. We apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience and are looking forward to hearing your feedback.

That's all for today!
