Co-op (short for cooperation) is a special feature in Hypixel SkyBlock which allows up to 5 players to play the game together on the same island with a co-op profile island.
Through upgrades from Elizabeth, the number of players allowed in a Co-op profile can be increased (See Account & Profile Upgrades).
Chat[]
The user can send a message to all co-op members in a private chat channel using /coopchat <message>
/cchat <message> or /cc <message>
. Co-op chat can be toggled by using /co or /togglecoopchat.
Managing[]
If the user already has an existing co-op profile, they can use the /coop
command, /coopview
command or Profile Management in their SkyBlock Menu to manage their co-op profile. If the owner is idle for too long, they may be kicked and items be salvaged.
Invites[]
In order for a user to invite someone to a co-op profile, they should open their SkyBlock Menu and select Profile Management (nametag item), then right-click on one of the empty profile spot. Alternatively, they could type in the command /coop
followed by the username of player(s) they want to invite separated by a space. Note that all the players invited have to be online in SkyBlock. This will create a new profile with a starter Private Island where the user and their co-op members can build on.
To start a new co-op profile, the player needs to use the command /coop <player 1> <player 2>...
and wait for the player(s) to accept.
To add a new member to an existing co-op profile, the user can use the /coopadd <player>
command. Using /coopadd on a solo profile will turn it into a co-op profile
To view their current invites, the player can use the /coopview <player>
command.
Kicking[]
To kick someone from a co-op profile, the player should use the command /coopkick <player>
. This will create a vote with the other co-op members to kick the player.
Note that if there are only 2 players in the co-op, you cannot kick the profile owner.
Leaving[]
The user should make sure they are on a different profile before leaving a co-op profile. When leaving a co-op profile, if there's still at least a member on it, the Private Island will still remain available for them. All the player's items and progress on the co-op profile will be removed and is salvageable by their co-op members.
Warning: Kicking a co-op member, while on a different profile, causes the kick to fail. All members voting in the kick must actively be on the profile while kicking for it to work.
Salvage[]
If a co-op member has left/kicked the co-op profile, the other co-op members can collect their items within 36 hours by using /coopsalvage <player>
. However, when salvaging when the person has deleted their profile, it takes time for the game to register this. It should take around 5–15 minutes and the command should work.
Pros and Cons of joining a co-op[]
Playing in a co-op has many advantages and disadvantages over playing alone. These are a few:
- Advantages:
- Shared Collections: Unlocking a Collection recipe also unlocks it for all the other co-op members.
- Minion Experience: Upon gaining Skill experience from a Minion, all co-op members receives a portion of the experience you receive.
- Personal Banks: Playing in a co-op grants access to a bank only you can access. The Personal Bank has 20% the capacity of the co-op's shared bank and receive 10% interest.
- Auction House: Each additional co-op member adds 3 additional auction slots over the starting max auction slots of 14
- Disadvantages:
- Trust: There is a risk of losing progress due to interactions with co-op members that cannot be trusted. There are tactics to kick players out of a co-op.
- Exponential Costs: Playing with more people means having to spend more on everything. this means more money has to be spent on equipment, slayers, dungeon chests, etc
- Shared Auctions: Because the co-op shares auctions, this means anyone can set up, cancel, or claim auctions done by any player in your co-op.
Trivia[]
- Individual Skill levels are not shared; however, Collections are shared. In Collections menu, members can see how much each members have contributed to a particular collection.
- There was once a glitch in the game allowing players to create co-ops with as many players as they desired, this was soon fixed.
- Co-op members can trade with each other even in Ironman or Stranded mode.
