Dante was a one time special Mayoral Candidate that appeared in the Year 128 Mayor Election. He offered three perks, Order, Security and Freedom, which changed once he was elected. After Dante was elected, Clerk Seraphine started building the Resistance Movement at the Dark Auction, which lead to an election for the Resistance Leader to lead The Uprising, the final boss fight in which players kill Dante.

Mayoral Perks

Most special mayors run with up to four unique perks, but Dante has only been seen with three perks.

Perks:

1. Order: Establish order
2. Security: Strengthen security
3. Freedom: Freedom from fear

However, when Dante was elected, his real perks are revealed and are as follows:

Changes List:

• Economy Restoration (Establish Order)
  • Double AH & Bazaar Tax
  • 10% coin tax on Shops
    • All NPC items have had their price increased by 10%. This did not affect selling items to NPCs.
  • 10 coins per minute fee for chatting
  • 2 coins toll on travelling between islands
    • This perk did not affect the /warpforge command.

• Increase Security (Strengthen Security)
  • Hired goons to protect official buildings
    • Goons would deny entry to most of the public buildings, excluding the Community Center where Dante is located, for players who were not wearing Happy Mask or did not have a Dante Talisman with them.
  • Cancelled hazardous events
    • The Traveling Zoo, Spooky Festival and Season of Jerry Event were cancelled. The New Year Celebration was still held.
    • The Mayor Elections were replaced with Dante Elections, where only Dante could be elected.
  • Decreased sunlight, prevent sunburn
    • The time of the day on the entire server was set to midnight, no matter what the actual in-game time was. This perk was not added until several days after Dante was elected. (This didn't affect islands with a Day Saver.)

• In the hours leading up to The Uprising, Dante introduced several more changes:
  • Dungeons were banned, which means no players could participate in Dungeons.
  • Pets were disabled, meaning no Pets could be equipped.
  • The alliance with the Dwarves was disbanded, barring access to the Dwarven Mines.
  • The AH and Bazaar were disabled, preventing people from buying items.
  • Eventually, traveling between islands itself was banned, forcing everyone into the Hub to fight Dante.

All of Dante's changes were reverted when Technoblade became mayor following The Uprising.

Message in the Hub, from Dante

After the popular Hypixel YouTuber Technoblade went live about the Resistance Movement, a Twitter message from Hypixel's official Twitter, revealed a message from Dante. This message replaces the map in the Hub.

During the boss fight against the Resistance, Dante unleashed Goons into the hub. Once they were defeated, he morphed into a giant Slime and started destroying the Hub. He could only be damaged using the Staff of the Rising Sun.

Receiving damage from Dante would result in the following message:

During the boss fight players were able to look up to support Technoblade. Doing so resulted in the following message in the chat:

ENERGY BALL: You are sending <maximum mana> mana to Technoblade!

After Dante was defeated, the following message appeared in the chat:

Dante Tomb

After 0.11.4, Dante's Tomb appeared in the Graveyard at  -89, 75, -133.

The tomb features mostly gray palate-type blocks of Stone, Cobblestone Walls as well as some Flower pots and Gold Blocks. There is a gray Dante statue standing on top of the tomb. Clicking the statue shows the following message in chat:

Trivia

• Jayavarmen mentioned a new special candidate in a tweet stating, "don't vote for them." This ended up to be Dante.
• Dante seems to be the opposite of Derpy, as Derpy appears to want chaos while Dante wants order.
• Dante is the fourth special mayor, replacing the spot of Derpy in Year 128.
• He is dressed in a military uniform.
• When he got elected, a secret movement in the Dark Auction House appeared.
• Before April 12, one wouldn't lose coins upon dying even if they didn't have a Cookie Buff or a Piggy Bank. This turned out to be a glitch and got patched.
• Dante, once he got elected:
  • Introduced a new soundtrack (made by ShinkoNet) into the Hub.
  • Drained the color from buildings in the Hub and modified them. For example, the fish on the Fish Merchant's house turned into a fish skeleton and the Event Stand was boarded up.
  • Changed the Hub biome to desert.
  • Replaced the well in the Village with his statue.
  • Replaced normal Mayor Elections with Dante Elections in which he's the only candidate.
  • Changed the result of the election he's been elected in into 100% votes for him, in-game displayed as "100% - All Votes" instead of the true percentage and amount of votes.
  • Added a message from him against the resistance replacing the hub map, lasting for the time he is elected.
  • Hung green-gray-black banners on some buildings in the Hub.
• The message Dante had in the Hub had a chance to be glitched on some lobbies.
• After The Uprising has ended, saying "dante" in the chat triggered the in-game swear filter. This was removed a few weeks later.

• Dante introduced 3 soundtracks, which are Dark and Seedy, Dark and Seedy (Pre-Revolt) and Breathless Encounter.
• When in boss form, even though Dante had a health bar, when he reached the wizard tower his health bar would always drop to 0%, no matter what.
• The command /killdante was used in Technoblade's Uprising livestream. The command is now disabled.
• A memorial to Dante exists in the Graveyard at  -90, 75, -130. You can find more information here.
• Dante and Bacte share a striking resemblance, but aren't necessarily related.
• According to Elise, Wizards believe that Shen or perhaps even created Dante. Another possibility is that Shen got in the Rift Dimension before the Wizards, and found Dante there.
