The Dark Auction (DA) is a special event which occurs every 3 SkyBlock days (1 hour). In these events, exclusive items are sold to the highest bidder.

Mechanics

The Dark Auction occurs every three in-game days at midnight or approximately 5 minutes before every real hour (ex: 1:55, 2:55, etc.) A timer for the next Dark Auction can be found here). The NPC Sirius appears in front of a wooden door in the wilderness at the coordinates  91, 75, 176 at 11:50 pm in-game time for 35 seconds.

When Sirius appears at the door of the Dark Auction house, players must click on them to enter a queue for the Dark Auction. If the player successfully makes it in, they will be warped to another server into the house. Players can go behind the desk to go down the stairs and enter the Dark Auction room.

Players must have a minimum of 400,000 coins in their purse in order to enter. In addition, Sirius will only allow a certain number of players into the Auction across all of SkyBlock. 10 seconds after spawning in front of the Dark Auction house, players who try to enter will be sent to Dark Auction lobbies. If there are too many players trying to enter, only the richest players will be able to enter.

Within Dark Auction servers, the Auction House and Personal Bank cannot be accessed.

After 45 seconds of preparation, Sirius rains potions from the ceiling, causing all players to appear invisible. An item will be presented and will be showcased for five seconds. Players will then be able to place bids. Similarly to the Auction House, the highest bidder wins the item. However, the Dark Auction follows a different system to the Auction House. Auctions only last for ten seconds, but the timer will restart each time a bid is placed. Additionally, players can only bid predetermined amounts of coins by selecting items displaying possible bids from a line, replacing the item with the player's head. Players can not bid lower than the highest bid, and any invalid selections are marked by barrier blocks. Money is immediately removed from the player's purse on bid, but it is refunded if it is not the highest bid. If a player bids the highest on an item, but disconnects before winning the item, the coins will be automatically deducted and the item will be sent to Jerry.

There will be 5 items (8 items if Scorpius is mayor) all using this format. Once the Dark Auction is over, the back door will open and allow the player to walk back up to the house, and will later be teleported to the Hub Island.

Lucius will sell the player a special accessory line after buying certain amounts of items from the Dark Auction. After buying 5 items, he sells the Shady Ring; after buying 10 items, he sells the Crooked Artifact; after buying 15 items, he sells the Seal of the Family.

Items can only appear in certain positions of the Dark Auction's order. The auctioned items will be randomly selected from the possible items available from that round.

Same item cannot appear in the same dark auction twice, once it appears once its removed from any following rounds.

Despite some items appearing multiple times in the order, Sirius will only sell a maximum of one of each possible item per Dark Auction. He will also not sell two pets of the same rarity, but can sell two pets of different rarities.

Darker Auctions

When Scorpius is elected mayor and his Darker Auctions perk is available, there will be seven items auctioned instead of four. The auctioned items will be randomly selected from the possible items available from that round.

Same item cannot appear in the same dark auction twice, once it appears once its removed from any following rounds.

Trivia

• Once the player has been in the Dark Auction once, the days of which the Dark Auction takes place will appear on their Calendar. The player will also receive 1000 coins.
• If the player participates in a full Dark Auction, they will get a secret achievement called "Sirius Business" which awards the player 10 achievement points.
• The music heard within the Dark Auction is C418 - Stal.
• During the Resistance Movement event, the Dark Auction's door was opened and it was transformed into a Resistance base.
