The Ember Rod is an unobtainable EPIC Sword which used to be dropped by the Magma Cube Boss in the Blazing Fortress. It requires  Combat VIII (8) to use and can now only be obtained through the Auction House or Trading.

Obtaining

The Ember Rod is now unobtainable; the EPIC and LEGENDARY Magma Cube Pets replaced it as a drop from the Magma Cube Boss. It was dropped randomly, so the player who dealt the most damage wouldn't necessarily get the weapon. Players must have dealt at least 1 damage to qualify for the drop. A Magma Cube Boss would only drop one Ember Rod.

Trivia

• The Ember Rod is directly related to another Hypixel Minigame, Mega Walls. The ability of the Blaze Kit in Mega Walls is the same as the Ember Rod.
• When SkyBlock was released, the Ember Rod was one of the best swords in the game (with the best being Leaping Sword and Pigman Sword at the time), costing over 200,000 coins on the Auction House. It has since been surpassed by nearly every early-game sword in the game, such as the Raider Axe.
  • YouTuber TimeDeo and his Co-op partners abused the high cost of the Ember Rod and the fact that Magma Cube Boss spawn times used to vary between servers to become the first Co-op with 50,000,000 coins.
• The Ember Rod could previously be crafted into Blaze Powder using the vanilla crafting grid in the Inventory. A later update forbade non-vanilla items from being used in vanilla crafting recipes.
• The Fire Blast ability doesn't work on Endermen as projectiles can't hit them.
• Once the Admins removed the ability to obtain the ember rod, the prices skyrocketed now averaging to about 8,000,000 coins per rod.
