Glacite Mineshafts are found by mining in the ⏣ Glacite Tunnels. They contain valuable loot, Heart of the Mountain experience and more.

Mechanics

Spawning

Glacite Mineshafts can be found by mining blocks within the ⏣ Glacite Tunnels. The base chance of spawning a Glacite Mineshaft is 0.05%, or 1 in 2,000. A pity system was implemented in Version 0.20.1 to provide a more consistent spawn rate for Glacite Mineshafts. Each pity counter begins at 2,000 and decreases by the numbers below for each block type. Once a Glacite Mineshaft has spawned, the counter is reset to 2,000.

After finding a Glacite Mineshaft, a portal will appear, which the player has 30 seconds to enter before it disappears. A sound will be played and the following chat message will appear:

Mineshaft! A mineshaft portal spawned nearby!

A notification will also appear in the middle of the screen with the same wording as the chat message. Once the portal appears, it will emit purple and white particles. Above the particles, your IGN will appear next to Mineshaft Portal. Once you click the portal, a UI will appear with more info:

Events

A Mineshaft has a chance of activating a random mining event. This event lasts until all players have evacuated the mineshaft. The possible events are the following:

• 2x Powder
• Better Together
• Fortunate Freezing
• Gone with the Wind

Corpses

Each Glacite Mineshaft contains from 1 to 3 random corpses, which can be looted for various items.

Gemstone Crystals

Rarely a mineshaft may contain a Gemstone Crystal which is used to forge Perfect Gemstones, it can be one of the following:  Ruby Crystal,  Jasper Crystal,  Opal Crystal,  Onyx Crystal,  Aquamarine Crystal,  Citrine Crystal or  Peridot Crystal. Only the shaft's owner can collect the crystal.

Leaving Bonus

Leaving a Glacite Mineshaft either through its entrance or with the   Ascension Rope grants additional  Glacite Powder.

• 1,000  Glacite Powder as a base reward
• 500  Glacite Powder per  Suspicious Scrap found
• 250  Glacite Powder per Frozen Corpse looted
• 10  Glacite Powder per Cold endured

Clicking on the floating text at the Entrance will show a list of these bonuses.

Trivia

• If the player dies while in a Mineshaft through any means such as Cold or mobs, they return to the Dwarven Base Camp and is unable to get back in.
• The easiest way to get out of a Mineshaft is by using an Ascension Rope.
