The Golden Goblin is a passive Mob that spawns from Goblin Eggs (2% chance), or by mining any ore (0.1% chance) in the Dwarven Mines. Killing Golden Goblins contributes to the tiered "Goblin Killer" Achievement.

Description

Golden Goblins are a rare spawn from either throwing Goblin Eggs (1/50, 2% base chance) or from mining Mithril, Gemstone, Titanium or Dwarven Gold within ⏣ Dwarven Mines or ⏣ Crystal Hollows (1/1000, 0.1% base chance) or mining Hardstone (1/10000, 0.01% base chance). These chances can be increased by Luck of the Cave or Sky Mall. It drops a base of 200 Mithril Powder when killed, this can be upgraded through Goblin Killer.

When the Golden Goblin spawns, the following message will display in chat:
A Golden Goblin has spawned!
Golden Goblins will de-spawn after 30 seconds.

Golden Goblins have a low chance to be replaced by Diamond Goblins.

Behaviour

Golden Goblins run away from the player, and jump off cliffs. They try to kill themselves before the player reaches them. Their behaviour is similar to the Hidden Jerrys that can be spawned during Mayor Jerry's time in office.

Information

• Golden Goblins can be spawned outside the Dwarven Mines, but will only drop coins and Mithril. They will not give Mithril Powder.
  • No message will display in chat.
  • They will still de-spawn after 30 seconds.
  • Attempting to spawn a Golden Goblin on another player's island (outside your own) will cause the Goblin Egg to be lost, and nothing will happen.
  • Goblin eggs cannot be thrown in the Crystal Hollows.
  • If killed during the 2x Powder Event, it will give 2x powder. This can fill the double powder Commission.

Trivia

• The first time spawning a Golden Goblin from throwing a Goblin Egg will grant the "The Next Generation" Achievement.
• The Luck of the Cave perk from Heart of the Mountain increases the chance for Golden Goblins to spawn.
• Hitting the Golden Goblin at least one time will grant the full amount of Mithril Powder, even if it dies afterwards to fall damage.
• Shadow Fury can be used to chase a Golden Goblin even if out of sight.
• Killing 1 Golden Goblin is a possible task for Commission Slot 2 (or 4, with Peak of the Mountain level 3).
  • Using Mineral Armor with a Stonk in the Puzzler's room used to be a way to complete this quest quickly. However, this was patched when the ores in the Puzzler's room were filled with planks.
  • Golden Goblins contribute to the 100 necessary kills in the Goblin Slayer commission.
