The Hound Pet is a  Combat Pet that can be obtained by killing wolves in the Ruins or the Howling Cave, being one of the four pets obtained from mobs used in Slayer Quests (the other three being the Tarantula Pet, Enderman Pet and the Ghoul Pet).

In order to obtain the Hound Pet, players must kill Wolves in the Ruins or the Howling Cave.

The EPIC Hound Pet has a 0.001% (1/100,000) chance to drop from a Wolf, or 0.003% (1/33,333.3) from an Old Wolf, Howling Spirit, Soul of the Alpha or Pack Spirit.

The LEGENDARY Hound Pet has a 0.0003% (1/333,333.3) chance to drop from a Wolf, or 0.001% (1/100,000) from an Old Wolf, Howling Spirit, Soul of the Alpha or Pack Spirit.

Tips[]

  • Assuming a Daedalus Axe Daedalus Axe with Chimera V is used, and the player has at least 210 ✯ Magic Find without a pet, the Hound Pet beats a Golden Dragon Pet Golden Dragon Pet with 100M Gold Ingot collection and a Minos Relic Minos Relic for armor drops.
    • However, care should be taken, as if the modifiers used (e.g. Looting, Luck, and the Hound Pet) push the item's base drop chance to 5% or above, ✯ Magic Find will no longer apply to the drop.
  • Because of the Scavenger ability, it synergizes with a Raider Axe Raider Axe or Daedalus Axe Daedalus Axe enchanted with Scavenger
  • If the player's stats are high enough to breeze through the current dungeon floors, this pet could be a good choice. Even though its damage buffs are not as high as the other combat pets, the player will get more armor.
