The Inferno Minion is normally extremely slow. However, each placed Inferno Minion increases the speed of all Inferno Minions by 18%, additively. For example, 5 Inferno Minions corresponds to a 90% speed boost (the minion operates 1.9x as fast). The maximum speed boost is 180%, which can be obtained with total 10 active Inferno Minions.
Without any fuel, the minion will produce Crude Gabagool.
Inferno Minions have their own, exclusive fuel items, which boost their speed to the average of other minions. Although they do accept regular fuels such as Plasma Bucket and Hyper Catalyst, the extremely low base speed renders regular fuels nearly useless.
The general recipe for Inferno Minion Fuel comprises 6 Distillates of the same type, 2xInferno Fuel Block, and 1 Gabagool. All Inferno Minion Fuels last 24 hours.
The Distillate determines the item which the Inferno Minion will specialise in creating. The Blaze Rod, Magma Cream, Glowstone Dust, and Nether Wart outputs will be replaced by the Distillate's output.
The Gabagool tier used determines the speed boost the minion will receive. Fuel Gabagool gives 10x, Heavy Gabagool gives 15x, and Hypergolic Gabagool gives 20x. This speed boost multiplies with the speed boost from placed Inferno Minions.
Fuel created with Hypergolic Gabagool additionally allows Inferno Minions to very rarely produce special items (Inferno Vertex, Inferno Apex, Reaper Pepper). The production rate is approximately "a couple Inferno Vertices a day" with a "maxed" setup.[1] The Tier X (10) and XI (11) Inferno Minions will create an additional Inferno Apex upon creating one.
Listed below are the profits of this minion when its items are sold to Bazaar. No Minion Fuel, Compactors, nor Diamond Spreading are used in the calculation. Values are shown when the player is online.
That requires itself to be crafted twice, rather than once; or itself and another minion.
That cannot be quickcrafted into the next tier when placed.
To calculate the action speed of an inferno minion, the formula is baseSpeed / ((1+ speedBuffs) * (1+InfernoMinionFuelMultiplier)).
In versions before 0.19.5, the Apex Minion ability was bugged and only created the two Inferno Apex if the island is loaded (for example if the player is AFK). If not, then it would've generated only one. It was theorized that while offline, the minion attempted to stack the two together, which is considered invalid, thus the second is deleted to become a single item.
It is the Slayer minion with the lowest slayer level requirement.
As a budget setup, a player can use 9 tier I-II Inferno Minions to boost the one of highest tier.
Without using Hypergolic Gabagool fuels, players can only get to tier VIII of the minion without buying Vertices from other players.
It used to be a common belief that Hypergolic Fuels rolled for rare drops once per item, rather than once per harvest, this has been proven false. This resulted in the Nether Wart Distillate being more popular at the time.
The Hypergolic Gabagool fuels can be stacked inside the minion despite not normally being stackable, and will have the fuel time match the amount stacked.
Before the minion backend update on April 9, 2025, only one Hypergolic Ionized Ceramics would appear after all the fuel was depleted, even if multiple were inserted.
Contrary to a common belief, Inferno Minions are affected by Derpy's ability, but has inconsistent properties depending on when it was fueled, and considered buggy.
If the fuel is first placed before Derpy is elected and the player goes offline, going back online when Derpy becomes mayor will result in all the previous harvest within the offline time to be given double output even if it was outside the mayor's term. This bug is not exclusive to this minion or fuel.
The same first fuel afterwards however, will have double duration for the remainder of its time instead of double output. This can result in the fuel lasting for almost 2 days, but will not have the double drops. The lengthened duration still effectively means the player is getting double output per fuel, though.
Any new fuel added while Derpy is already elected will work as intended; giving double output and no longer retaining the double duration.
The loot is rolled twice per harvest, meaning the player won't get double drops per roll for rare items (such as Vertices), but will have double chance of getting them.
