The Magma Fields are a randomly-generated location in the ⏣ Crystal Hollows where Yogs can spawn.

Location

Any location in the ⏣ Crystal Hollows at or below Y=64.0 is considered part of the Magma Fields.

Behavior

When in the Magma Fields, the player's ♨ Heat gradually rises until they begin to burn and take damage.

Lava in the Magma Fields bypasses the  Lava Talisman and  Fire Talisman's effects, but not the Campfire Badge's effects.

The Magma Fields provide a bottom entrance to the ⏣ Crystal Nucleus and can house ⏣ Khazad-dûm.

In addition, it is possible to fish in the lava within the Magma Fields, with a separate loot table to normal fishing.

This text is shown when a player enters ⏣ Magma Fields for the first time.

Trivia

• Early on in the release of the ⏣ Crystal Hollows (0.12), lava fishing in the Magma Fields had vanilla Minecraft loot tables, leading to lots of glitched items.
• Standing in water, drinking a water bottle, or leaving the Magma Fields will reduce your ♨ Heat.
• Wearing a full set of  Heat Armor or  Flamebreaker Armor, or  Yog Armor will reduce the rate at which your ♨ Heat increases.
• Wearing a full set of  Yog Armor or equipping a  Bal Pet of any rarity or level grants immunity to ♨ Heat.
• There is a type of random structure generated in Magma Fields which spawns Automatons constantly regardless of the area it overlaps with.
