The Minos Champion is a Mythological Creature. The Minos Champion gains extra ❁ Damage the longer it lives, up to 600% before despawning, thus failing the burrow challenge.
The Minos Champion has a chance to spawn when digging up the 2nd or 3rd Griffin Burrow in a chain with an Ancestral Spade. A Mythological Creature also has a 0.4% chance to be spawned after a Mob is killed.
The Minos Champion can attack using a sword for melee attacks or a bow for ranged damage. It gains roughly 3-4% of a ❁ Damage buff for each second it's lived for, capping at 600%. Once it has reached a total buff of 600%, the Minos Champion despawns. If the Minos Champion is unable to reach the player while in the 10 block range after a certain time, it will spawn a cross of Iron Blocks and strike lighting on the player once, similar to the Gaia Construct.
Strategy[]
The Minos Champion boasts incredible speed and damage, so taking as little as three hits without striking back can lead to death. It won't pursuit unless you're within a range of ~10 blocks, and will rapidly fire arrows if within the outer few blocks of his range. If possible, knock it into a corner for easier combos. Splashing the Minos Champion with a slowness potion reduces its speed to almost zero, making it easy to combo. It's recommended to have decent Attack Speed as this makes it easier to string attacks together, thus preventing the Minos Champion from attacking back. A Sword of Revelations or Daedalus Axe is recommended, with the second dealing higher damage, although more expensive.
