Usage[]
The Phantom Rod can be used as a fishing rod and as a weapon. Both Fishing and sword enchantments can be applied to it.
The Phantom Rod's ability terrifies mobs caught by the hook, dealing Melee Damage and knocking them back. This has no cooldown (aside from your hit cooldown/attack speed) and works regardless of where the player clicks. This ability doesn't work on the Revenant Horror and Sven Packmaster.
Essence Crafting[]
This item can be upgraded with Undead Essence. It has no other requirements when converted.
The Phantom Rod is a very powerful weapon against dungeon mini-bosses such as Lost Adventurers and Angry Archaeologists, but also gain time to finish the Terminals in The Catacombs - Floor VII, Goldor Fight. Once hooked, they can be locked in place by left clicking and have significant damage done to them.
The rod can be used to easily kill Watcher summons from afar, allowing the player to avoid their attacks.
This weapon pairs well with low ❤ Effective Health dungeon builds, as it can turn melee classes into ranged classes. It can be a low-budget option for Berserkers, and can completely negate the use of a Baby Yeti Pet.
This weapon is a great weapon to deal damage to Arachne. By hooking her with the Phantom Rod, and spamming left click, damage can be dealt through the cobwebs. This also makes a player a lot safer, as the player can keep distance from her while dealing damage. Currently, it is one of the best method to deal damage to Arachne, with similar damage output with Scorpion Foil when doing boss fights.
The Phantom Rod doesn't work nearly as well on the Tarantula Broodfather due to the boss constantly slam-dunking into the player. Additionally, it can prevent it from dealing damage to the player frequently enough, so that the boss rapidly regenerates ❤ Health.
Trivia[]
This is one of two 'Fishing Weapons' in the game, the other being the Shredder.
Endermen are immune to any attacks from this weapon. As such, it is ineffective against the Voidgloom Seraph and the strong Endermen in the ⏣ Void Sepulture.
