The Powder Ghast is a mob that spawns randomly in Dwarven Mines at any time. It's not a part of the regular cycle of events, and instead is a random occurrence. The Powder Ghast can spawn in one of the following locations: Divan's Gateway, Rampart's Quarry, Cliffside Veins and Forge Basin.
Players will receive 60᠅Mithril Powder for every hit that lands on its hitbox. The player who lands the final hit on it will receive 54 Combat experience upon defeating it. When one spawns, the following message will appear in chat:

If the Powder Ghast is not killed after a while, it will de-spawn.
The Powder Ghast cannot take melee hits. If you hit the Powder Ghast with a melee weapon, the following message will be sent to the player:
The Powder Ghast is immune to melee damage! Try arrows!
Tips[]
Bows are the only efficient way to attack it since it is immune to magic and melee damage.
Runaan's Bow is particularly useful when fighting it since each bow shot launches 3 arrows and, thus, triple the powder.
