Purple Candy is an EPIC item obtained mainly by killing Mobs during the Spooky Festival, among other related sources.
Obtaining[]
While the Spooky Festival is active, for every Green Candy dropped, there is a base 10% chance of it being a Purple Candy instead. An additional +0.2% chance is added for every level the Mob has. For example, a Ghost which is Level 250 grants an additional +50% chance. At 60% chance, there is a higher to gain a Purple Candy than a Green one.
As a Green Candy has a base drop chance of 10% itself, this means that a Purple Candy has an effective base chance of 1%. The above example with the Ghost mob would being the total effective chance to 6%
There are several items increasing the drop chance of Purple Candy including Bat Person Armor, Spooky Armor, Candy Talisman and its upgraded forms, and the Candied Reforge. The player can also exchange Carnival Tokens while the Carnival is active for a tiered perk that permanently increases the odds for Purple Candy drops.
The chance to get a purple candy is not increased by ✯ Magic Find.
Additionally, Spooky Sea Creatures of different types drop varying amounts of Purple Candy at varying chances. This is not limited to the Spooky Festival and can drop them as long as they are allowed to spawn (via the Fear Mongerer's presence in the Hub).
Other sources include the Headless Horseman, from the Fear Mongerer as a garden visitor reward, from launching Bat Fireworks, from Trick or Treat Chest/Party Chest, minions with the Sleepy Hollow item, or from the Great Spook Tree.
Usage[]
Purple and Green Candy can be traded to the Fear Mongerer while they are in the Village in exchange for spooky themed items.
Purple candy awards the player +5 points in the Spooky Festival, while Green Candy only gives 1 point. This is only the case for candies dropped directly from killing mobs or by collecting candies from Bats (excluding players' Bat Fireworks).
