Saplings are COMMON vanilla items.
There are 6 types of saplings, one for each type of tree in Minecraft. They can be obtained by destroying leaves normally (without using shears or a tool with the Silk Touch Enchantment), or purchased from the Builder. Other than growing a tree on a Private Island, their only use is to Trade for the corresponding type of Leaves.
Obtaining[]
Trees grow naturally in the Forest and The Park, where you can break logs and the decaying leaves will drop saplings. It is also possible to plant saplings on your private island, which grow normally and will drop additional saplings once chopped down.
They can also be purchased from the Builder for 2 coins each.

Usage[]
Saplings can be used to grow trees on your Private Island, or unlock trades on all second tier of the Foraging collections.
