α Sea Creature Chance or α SCC is a player Stat. It determines the likelihood of a Sea Creature spawning whilst fishing. Players have a base α Sea Creature Chance of 20%.
Mechanic
The α Sea Creature Chance determines the percentage chance to fish up a Sea Creature. A α Sea Creature Chance of N% means an N% chance of fishing up a Sea Creature. At 100% or above, fishing up Sea Creature is guaranteed.
A player has a base α Sea Creature Chance of 20%, and the α Sea Creature Chance can be increased in different ways.
Increasing Sea Creature Chance
Angler Armor: +4% (Gives +1% per piece)
Superior Dragon Armor: +5% to all stats, including α SCC, when wearing the full set- Salmon Armor: +6% (Gives +1.5% per piece)
- Sponge Armor : +7.2% (Gives 1.8% per piece)
- Diver's Armor: +8% (Gives +2% per piece)
- Shark Scale Armor: +10% (Gives 2.5% per piece)
- Water Hydra Head: +1.8% (Gives +3% on dungeon variant)
- Squid Boots: +1.0% (Gives +3% on dungeon variant)

- Thunder Armor: +17.5% (Gives +4% per piece, +1.5 Thunderbolt Necklace)

- Nutcracker Armor: +6% (Gives +1.5% per piece, all stats are doubled while on ⏣ Jerry's Workshop)

- Delirium Necklace: +1%
- Thunderbolt Necklace: +1.5% (combines with Thunder Armor)
- Clownfish Cloak: +0.5%

- Angler Enchantment: +1-6%
- Expertise Enchantment: +1-6%
- Chimera Ultimate Enchantment: Copies 20-100% of the active pet's stats, providing up to +17% α SCC. Can only be applied to Fishing Weapons (or other weapons)
- Legion Ultimate Enchantment: +0-28% (max on all 4 armor pieces and 20+ nearby players) boost to all stats, including α SCC, when there's nearby players
- Bobbin' Time Ultimate Enchantment: 4.8-8% with max players (max 32% on all armor pieces) - Increases fishing-related stats (including α Sea Creature Chance) for each fishing bobber within 30 blocks, up to 10 bobbers.

Achieving Maximum Sea Creature Chance
By getting all of the followings, it is possible to achieve a total of 211.33 α Sea Creature Chance while lava fishing in the ⏣ Crimson Isle.
- Base SCC (+20 α).
- Recombobulated Submerged Magma Lord Armor (+18 + 4 reforge + 1 set bonus) with Bobbin' Time V and 10 players fishing nearby (+32%)
- Recombobulated and reforged to Snowy: Thunderbolt Necklace (+2.3), Clownfish Cloak (+0.9), Black Belt/ Gillsplash Belt (+1), Magma Lord Gauntlet (+2.3 + 0.5 set bonus) (+7 total)
- Recombobulated Salty/Treacherous/Stiff/Lucky Hellfire Rod (+14 + 7 reforge) with Angler VI (+6) and Expertise X (+6) (+33 total)

Please note: There are different ways to maximize α Sea Creature Chance for ⏣ Magma Fields, Fishing Festival (see Pets) and water fishing (see Fishing Rods). After reaching 100% it is better to solely focus on ☂ Fishing Speed as any α SCC above 100% does not give bonus Sea Creatures.
Tips
- Since players can't choose what Sea Creatures they can catch, maximizing this stat can greatly increase the chance of getting the wanted Sea Creature in order to get more Fishing XP or drops from the Sea Creature.
