• It is one of the Fishing Armor Sets that is worth putting the Submerged reforge on.

Trivia

• It grants the fourth highest amount of base α Sea Creature Chance in the game, at 2.5% per piece and 10% total. It also grants the highest α Sea Creature Chance out of fishing sets that can be obtained from Water Fishing, with the higher tiers of armor, Lava Sea Creature Armor, Thunder Armor and Magma Lord Armor, only being obtained through Lava Fishing.
• Wearing the full set will unlock the "Absorb it all!" Achievement which normally unlocks by wearing full set of Sponge Armor.
• The Thorns enchant adds more damage to the Reflect Full Set Bonus.
• There used to be a bug where if a player wears Sponge Armor or Shark Scale Armor in water, then switches to another armor set while still in the water, they can gain the 2x ❈ Defense buff even if they are not wearing Sponge Armor or Shark Scale Armor.
• If the player wears this set and has a  Fishing level of less than 24, the Full Set Bonus Absorb still doubles the player's ❈ Defense.
