Slayers are missions which involve killing mobs of a specific type to spawn a strong boss, then slaying that boss. Defeating the bosses grants Slayer XP; leveling up in Slayer unlocks rarer and more valuable drops from the boss, and more powerful items to use against the boss, and eventually in general.
Mechanics
Slayer Quests are started by talking to Maddox the Slayer underneath the Tavern at -75, 66, -56, which is near the Lumberjack and Graveyard, or talking to him remotely using the Maddox Batphone unlocked at Wolf Slayer LVL
III
. Boss quests require Coins to start depending on the tier of the boss. Only 1 Slayer Quest may be active at a time.
Once a quest is started, the specified amount of Combat XP must be earned from killing the corresponding mob type. The current Slayer Quest and the current progress is shown in the sidebar. In
Tier III
and higher quests, there is a chance to spawn a Slayer mini-boss per Combat XP earned, which grants higher amounts of Combat XP. When the amount is reached, the boss spawns at the location of the last mob killed.
Slayer Bosses are bosses of that Slayer's type. They each have unique abilities, and higher tiers have stronger abilities. These abilities, along with the boss’s Health and damage per second, can be viewed in Maddox's GUI. Slayer bosses must be defeated within a certain time after spawning; if the boss is not defeated when the time runs out, the boss will disappear and the quest will fail. They also cannot be within the vicinity of the Village, as the same result will occur.
All Slayer Bosses will perform a critical attack if the Player stands in one place for too long. The damage number is green with an up arrow next to it. A critical attack sound will play to notify the player. The attack sends the targeted player into the air and toward the boss. This attack has unlimited range. Also, all bosses will regenerate Health rapidly, if the boss has not hit the Player for a while. All bosses are immune to the effects of the Knockback enchantment.
Each successful quest completion awards Slayer XP, which increases the player's slayer level for that boss. Slayer levels give permanent stat boosts as well as unlocking Slayer item recipes (view unlocked recipes by clicking the book while viewing a specific Slayer).
After fighting a boss, the token drop (Revenant Flesh for the Revenant Horror, Tarantula Web for the Tarantula Broodfather, Wolf Tooth for the Sven Packmaster, Null Sphere for the Voidgloom Seraph and Derelict Ashe for the Inferno Demonlord) is always Guaranteed(100%), with other drops on a separate drop table, and rare items and runes on yet another drop table. Therefore, it is possible, albeit unlikely, to get 3 different drops from a single slayer boss at higher tiers.

Auto-Slayer
Auto-Slayer is a mechanic that allows users to automatically start another slayer quest of the same type upon finishing one. It will only restart the quest if the player has sufficient coins in their purse or bank to begin another quest.
Auto-Slayer can be toggled on and off in Maddox’s GUI. Auto-Slayer is unlocked upon reaching LVL 6 in the Zombie, Spider, and Wolf Slayers.
RNGesus Meter
RNGesus Meter is unlocked for an individual boss-type upon slaying the Tier III
boss. The RNGesus Meter takes 200,000 Slayer XP of its type to fill and is reset upon receiving a drop of Pray RNGesus(<1%) rarity or higher. Upon filling up, the subsequent boss killed is guaranteed to drop a Pray RNGesus(<1%) or rarer drop, with the different drop chances proportional to their normal drop chances, as well as to the tier of Slayer boss killed to fill the meter.[1] For example, Warden Hearts will drop less often than Snake Runes, and have a higher chance of dropping the more Tier V
bosses were killed to fill the meter.
Trivia
- The mini-bosses that spawn during Slayer quests despawn if they are not defeated for a while.
- Contributing 24 times to the Bartender's Brewery project grants a 5% discount on Slayers. It overrides and does not stack with the 4% discount at all Slayers level 7. This discount is no longer available.
- There are plans for more unique bosses for Slayer, as well as
Tier V
bosses for Tarantula Broodfather, Sven Packmaster and Voidgloom Seraph. - If the server reboots when the player has an active slayer quest, the boss will despawn, and progress is set to 1 Combat XP away from spawning the boss. The next mob killed will immediately spawn the boss again.
- When Enderman Slayer was released, all players lost access to Auto-Slayer due to not having Enderman Slayer LVL 6. However, players who had it on before the update would be able to use it, and would not be able to disable it.
- Without any external bonuses, 2000
Tier IV
Slayer quests are required in order to get a Slayer to LVL 9. This costs 100,000,000 coins per Slayer not counting failed quests. - The global combat XP buff is additive with the combat XP buff from the Hunter Talisman or the Hunter Ring and with the Viking's tear brew in experience potions (included in God Potions).[2][1]
