Sponge Armor is an Epic Armor unlocked at Sponge IX. It requires  Fishing XVII (17) to use. Each piece grants +1.8% α Sea Creature Chance. While this Armor is worn in water and the full set is equipped your ❈ Defense will double.

It can also be used to craft Shark Scale Armor. It is highly recommended to upgrade this armor into Shark Scale Armor, as the price for 8x Enchanted Shark Fins is extremely low.

Trivia

• The Sponge Armor boots are actually named "Spongy Shoes," as opposed to the rest of the set, which follows the usual naming pattern.
• Wearing the full set will unlock the "Absorb it all!" Achievement.
• There used to be a bug where a player wears Sponge Armor or Shark Scale Armor in water, then switches to another armor set while still in the water, they can gain the 2x ❈ Defense buff even if they are not wearing Sponge Armor or Shark Scale Armor
