Spawning

The Sea Emperor can be fished up in any body of  Water if the player has reached  Fishing XX. The base Weight for the Sea Emperor is 10.

Purpose

If the player brings a The Sea Emperor to Jake in ⏣ Jake's House in the Mushroom Desert, he will sell a  Golden Ball for a limited time. It can be purchased from his shop for 1,000,000 coins.

Trivia

• There was a bug with the Ink Wand's ability Ink Bomb and the Explosive Bow's explosive arrows, where if the Sea Emperor is killed by either of these it can drop multiple skulls and have a higher drop chance of rare items. This is because the Sea Emperor is technically two mobs, and the ability kills both of them at once, causing double drops. This was fixed in the Community Update, patch 0.9.
• The Sea Emperor targets other players if it has been hit by another player. If all other players that have damaged it are killed, it targets its summoner.
• The Blessing VI Enchantment Book drop was bugged from the Sea Emperor's loot table for a very long time until it was finally added with the Crimson Isle update.
• It's currently the strongest Sea Creature that is not restricted to an area.
• Emperor's description implies the existence of at least seven seas, despite there currently being none.
