Cocoa bean farms can be turned into money-making machines if the right tools and a certain enchanted book called Replenish are used. Make sure to also use Efficiency V on your axe.
Replenish enchantment[]
Firstly, before we will show you how to make the farm, I/we will tell you why this involves the Replenish book. Replenish is an essential enchantment to have on most, but not all, farming tools. Replenish automatically replants plants using seeds/crops from your inventory (only taking one item to replants one crop type) and can save hours of pointless work. In order to get this book, you have to unlock it in the cocoa bean collection (or buy from the ah), and the materials needed for the book are:
Building the farm[]
Materials needed:
- Jungle wood
- Cocoa beans
Steps:
- To start, make a completely flat platform of jungle wood around the border of your island, and fill it in using a builder's wand.
- Then, place rows of jungle wood five blocks high (or 6 to add a little efficiency), and two blocks apart.
- Plant the cocoa beans on the top three (or 4) jungle logs, on all sides.
- Harvest with a replenish cocoa chopper.

Space around is required for moving through and around the rows. |
Stone can be any block you want, but should not be Jungle Wood with cocoa growing on it. Top row of jungle wood optional depending on your harvesting speed. |
Harvesting farm[]
There are various opinions on best speed and pitch (angle up/down), so ranges are listed below. All speeds assume that you are walking (not sprinting) and the axe has Efficiency V. Three jungle wood block high high farms generally let you move faster, but you harvest less for each one you pass.
Farm Type | ✦ Speed | Pitch |
---|---|---|
3 high farm (fast, some missed) | 188-200 | ~70° |
3 high farm (none missed) | 145-165 | 45°? |
4 high farm (fast, some missed) | ~140 | 60-65° |
4 high farm (none missed) | 115-125 | 60-70° |
For an infinite farm (where the start is regrown by the time you reach the end), a full-length farm with 16-20 rows (with cocoa beans on both sides) should be enough.
