This is a general guide for the Golden Hoe Farming skill.

The Basics[]

Players should go to the Farm Merchant Sprite Farm Merchant and purchase a Rookie Hoe Rookie Hoe for their first hoe and enchant it with Harvesting V. This grants a cheap 62.5 ☘ Farming Fortune.

Medals[]

Medals are used to buy Mathematical Hoe Blueprint Mathematical Hoe Blueprints which in turn are used to craft the tools for each respective crop in order to start farming efficiently. Alternatively, the tools can be bought from other players in which case this step can be skipped.

The easiest medal by far to acquire is a Bronze or Silver Medal in Wheat Wheat. The typical amount of crops needed for the former is 20-35k while the latter is around 210k.

Farming Contest[]

Every hour, 3 random crops will be selected for Jacob Sprite Jacob's contest. Contests last for 20 minutes each, and the medals awarded can also unlock several enchants for the player to use on their farming tools, such as Turbo-Wheat.
Future contests can be viewed in the SkyBlock Menu's Calendar or at Jacob's Farming Contest/Events. In this case, we are looking for Wheat contests.

First Gold Medal[]

By farming in the Farm you can "hub farm" wheat. Every couple of minutes when you finish farming the wheat fields, use /hub to quickly return to spawn, and use the Hub Selector Sprite Hub Selector to find an empty lobby to farm again in. Players can also farm like this while waiting for the contest to start to increase their farming level.

Once this cycle has been repeated several times, players should have enough Bronze or Silver Medals to exchange for Gold Medal 1x Gold Medal at Anita Sprite Anita.

Alternatively if a players has unlocked their garden it is recommended that this be used instead. By the time you reach the end of the garden plot if you do not have the Replenish enchantment then you should start "hub farming". If however you have Replenish then the start of the garden plot is likely to have regrown by then.

Crops - Pros & Cons
Crop Pros Cons
Wheat Wheat
  • Easy crop to get medals
  • Doesn't require the player to have a farm as they can farm wheat in the Hub.
  • Higher tier hoes for wheat are very expensive
  • Doesn't make a lot of money
Carrot Carrot
  • Good for money and experience.
  • Prices can fluctuate, and the tools can be expensive.
Potato Potato
Nether Wart Nether Wart
  • The price is constant, and the farm is easy to build.
  • Medals are hard to get, grants less money than other crops, and the tools are expensive.

Cocoa Beans Cocoa Beans

  • The tools are cheap, and the profit is great.
  • The farm is expensive to build.

Cactus Cactus

  • The tools are cheap, and the profit is the best.
  • The farm is expensive to build.
Sugar Cane Sugar Cane
  • The profit is great.
  • The farm is time consuming to build, and the tools can be expensive.
Mushroom
  • Easy crop to get medals
  • Tool for farming Mushroom is quite expensive
  • Farm is hard to build
Melon
  • Makes a lot of money
  • Easy to max out the Cultivating enchantment
  • One of the hardest crops to get medals due to the amount of people farming Melon
  • Farm is hard and expensive to build

Overall, a Cocoa Beans farm is recommended to build as there isn't an expensive tier 3 hoe for it. However, Carrot and Potato farms are also good starting options.

Experience Grinding[]

Increasing ☯ Farming Wisdom
Name Slot Notes
God Potion God Potion
Booster Cookie Booster Cookie
Farming Tool Blessed Newton Nether Warts Hoe
Rabbit Pet [Lvl 1➡100] Rabbit
Blue™ but Yellow Abicase Blue™ but Yellow Abicase

God Potions and the Rabbit Pet should be prioritized if the player has a limited budget. Pumpkin, Carrot, Potato, and Mushroom are the best crops for farming experience.

Making Money[]

Once the player reaches a farming level that they are comfortable with, they should have enough money to purchase some better gear. There are two route they can go down, the cheap one and the expensive one.

The Cheap Route[]

This route will use a Elephant Pet LEGENDARY Elephant Pet. Again, if money is tight, players can buy an Elephant Pet EPIC Elephant and level it up, then upgrade it at Kat Sprite Kat for a cheaper cost. Other helpful items include:

The Expensive Route[]

This route requires a Mooshroom Cow Pet Mooshroom Cow Pet with a Green Bandana equipped. However, if one doesn't have a high enough Garden level, they should use a Minos Relic instead.

Anita's Shop[]

After obtaining the setup for farming, players can now grind for Gold Medal Gold Medals which they can spend in Anita Sprite Anita's shop for upgrades.

The main focus right now should be the Extra Farming Drops Extra Farming Drops perk and the Blank Icon +1 Farming Level Cap perk.

Players should probably have enough Medals and Jacob's Ticket Jacob's Tickets for the first few Extra Farming Drops for a small boost in ☘ Farming Fortune. However, it starts getting very costly. Therefore, money-wise it's probably not worth doing all of them.

Total cost for all Extra Farming Drops 10x Extra Farming Drops is Jacob's Ticket 3,750x Jacob's Tickets and Gold Medal 66x Gold Medals. The Blank Icon  +1 Farming Level Cap costs Gold Medal 16x Gold Medals (of which 10 have to be unique) and Jacob's Ticket 500x Jacob's Tickets.

To get most Gold Medals a Tier 3 hoe will be required (except for Wheat). Players only need around 20 minutes worth of farming or breaking 24,000 crops at 20 blocks per second. It is probably not worth crafting all of the tools for a 20 minute contest.

Farming Speed[]

These ✦ Speed requirements are critical to maximize farming efforts and ultimately boost crop production.

Sugar Cane[]

Use 328 ✦ Speed and be at a 45.00 degree angle.

Cocoa Beans[]

If the farm is 5-high, use 93 ✦ Speed at a 73.5 degree angle. If the farm is 4-high, use 116 ✦ Speed at a 77.5 degree angle. If the farm is 3-high, use 145 ✦ Speed at a 32.5 degree angle.

Cactus[]

Use 464 ✦ Speed at a 90 degree angle.

Melon & Pumpkin[]

Any ✦ Speed above 265 is doable, just need to adjust the angle while farming. If the farm is vertical, use 150 ✦ Speed at a 90 degree angle, and looking down at 25 degrees.[1]

Wheat, Potato & Carrot[]

If the farm is 5 deep, use 93 ✦ Speed with Depth Strider III at a 90 degree angle. If the farm is 4 deep, use 116 ✦ Speed with Depth Strider III at a 90 degree angle. A setup like this requires the Patcher Mod to adjust the hitboxes of these crops to a full block.

Mushroom[]

Farm at 500 ✦ Speed in a straight line.

Nether Wart[]

If the farm is 5 deep, use 93 ✦ Speed at a 90 degree angle. If the farm is 4 deep, use 116 ✦ Speed at a 90 degree angle.
