Introduction[]
An ♲ Ironman profile is a unique way to play SkyBlock. It makes the game harder in three distinct ways:
- The Bazaar is closed, with the exception of Booster Cookies.
- The ⏣ Auction House is closed.
- You cannot trade between players, unless it is between players on your Co-op.
These elements are key parts of progression on a normal profile, and the way you play the game changes drastically when these restrictions are imposed. The purpose of this guide is to help you with your Ironman journey, and make sure that you progress in the game.
Foreword[]
Playing on an Ironman profile requires a lot of time, determination and knowledge about the game. Without these three things, you can be stuck at the same point in the game for tens of hours. It is also not advised for an Ironman to be your first profile. You should have a normal profile before attempting an Ironman.
Getting Started[]
First Steps[]
When you spawn in on your ⏣ Private Island, complete the questline that takes you to the ⏣ Hub Island. From here, complete the quests in the Hub - talking to the Villagers, Kat and George. Make sure to claim the Rogue Sword from Jamie, since this will be a useful item. Once you reach the quest to talk to the Carpenter, he will ask for 64x White Wool. This can be purchased from the Wool Weaver for 2,048 coins.
To acquire this money, Farm Wheat in the ⏣ Farm zone until your inventory fills up. This will also level up your Farming skill. From there, sell it and buy a Rookie Hoe, along with the wool. Give the Carpenter the wool. This will unlock the Carpentry skill. If you have a Rank, once you reach Carpentry III, you will gain access to Quick Crafting. From here, continue to farm Wheat. Complete the Farmer's quest. You can stop farming Wheat once you have around 20,000 coins. Craft a set of Farm Suit and a Farming Talisman, then you can sell the rest to NPCs, although you can craft the Wheat Minion.
Go to the Lumber Merchant and buy 4x Sticks. Then go to the Mine Merchant and buy 22x Gold Ingot, 18x Coal and any of the Pickaxes he sells. Using the purchased materials, craft a Golden Axe, a Golden Shovel, Block of Gold and Block of Coal and head over to Bea. Buy the COMMON Bee Pet for 5,000 coins and the crafted blocks. This will be your first Pet, which will allow you to level up Taming once equipped through the /pets menu.
Talk to Maxwell in the ⏣ Village, to learn about Accessories. Simply put, by collecting items that are classified as Accessories (seen on the bottom of their description) you earn Magical Power. Using Magical Power at Maxwell let's you earn stats, improving your damage, survivability and more. This is very important and frequently forgotten by players.
Next to the Mine Merchant is the Weaponsmith. Buy an Undead Sword from him. Complete the Blacksmith's quest, which will teach you how Reforging works, keep this system in mind as it is useful in all aspects and all stages of the game.
Head over to the Bartender, and complete his quest. This involves you killing Graveyard Zombies in the ⏣ Graveyard. Use your Undead Sword for them and all Undead mobs, such as Zombies or Skeletons. Doing this will give you some coins and the access to ⏣ Spider's Den.
Before you progress any further however, you should learn about Minions. Minions are a feature unlock through most of SkyBlock's Collections, which can be crafted and once placed on ones's ⏣ Private Island, they will periodically generate resources until they are full. Their efficiency can be increased by getting more of them, up to the base limit of 5, which can be increased by crafting Unique Minions (ie. Minions and their Tiers you, or your Co-op Members, haven't crafted before). Another way to increase their efficiency is through Minion Modifiers, which can increase their Storage space, their Speed, make them generate more resources and/or make them Compact their resources, so that they can fit more in the same storage.
Second Steps[]
Upon entering the Spider's Den, you will see a house on a hill to your left. Head over there by following the path leading to it, and you shall see a section which requires parkour. Once at the top, talk to Bramass Beastslayer to unlock the Bestiary, to Shaggy to learn of the local bossfight and to Grandma Wolf to receive a Pet useful in Combat, the COMMON Grandma Wolf Pet.
Return to the Hub Island. You should be at least Mining I from completing the Blacksmith's quest earlier, so you can now head to the first Mining Island, the ⏣ Gold Mine. Follow and Complete the questline here, unlocking the Lazy Miner's Pickaxe, which comes pre-enchanted with Smelting Touch I, allowing you to not have to smell mined ores, although this is only a factor when mining Iron Ore or Gold Ore.
Return to the Hub again. Continue to grind coins until you have enough to buy enough Experience Bottles from the Librarian to enchant your Golden Axe and Shovel with Efficiency V.
Behind the ⏣ Farm lies a set of Farming Islands, head to the second of them, the ⏣ Mushroom Desert, talk to any NPCs you see and complete their quests. Then, mine Sand at least until you reach Mining V, but ideally until Mining XII. The former of the two unlocks the ⏣ Deep Caverns, be sure to Lift Operator and then get to the bottom of the island, however be careful, as the mobs located there can deal surprisingly high amounts of Damage, and dying will result in the loss of 50% of your coins, so store them in the ⏣ Bank first. You can also stay a bit in ⏣ Lapis Quarry and slay Lapis Zombies, since they have 1% chance to drop the first mining armor, Lapis Armor. If you choose to grind for it, enchant your sword with Looting III and Luck V, if you need more damage, you can also get enchantments such as Smite V or Fire Aspect II.
At the ⏣ Obsidian Sanctuary, you will find Rhys. He will ask you for 15 enchanted ores. The best one to get is 15x Enchanted Redstone, since it drops in large quantities, and the collection is useful, as it lets you harness the power of more Accessories.
Using your Golden Axe you can also level Foraging by cutting down Trees in the ⏣ Forest, this will unlock an island featuring a couple of quests and many easy to get Accessories, such as Wolf Paw, Campfire Adept Badge and Mediocre Ring of Love. Foraging levels also grant ❁ Strength, increasing your Damage.
The Dwarven Mines - Mining Progression[]
After giving Rhys the materials, you will unlock Heart of the Mountain and be warped to ⏣ Dwarven Mines, the best island for most of the Mining Resources. Be sure to talk to Rhys inside Dwarven Mines, to understand everything there is to know about the island. Following Rhys' advice, head over to Bubu and purchase a Fractured Mithril Pickaxe, which you will need for its Ⓟ Breaking Power, although a regular Diamond Pickaxe is slightly faster for mining, so be sure to have both.
Find the locations of Fetchur and Puzzler and be ready to complete their quests once a 2x Powder Event happens, as that will award you 4000 ᠅ Mithril Powder instead of 2000 ᠅ Mithril Powder. Our wiki will tell you what item Fetchur is looking for on his page every day.
Since most enchantments are not available through ⏣ Hub's Enchanting Table, be sure to setup your own on your island and place 15x Bookshelves around it, in a way so there is 1 block between them and the Table. Via the table, Enchant your Pickaxes with Efficiency V, Fortune III and Experience III. Sooner or later you will reach Enchanting X, which unlocks the recipe for Experimentation Table, craft it as soon as you can, and do its minigames every day, as it will level your Enchanting incredibly fast, which will grant you more Experience from all source, including Experience Bottles, and unlock stronger Enchantments, making it the most useful Skill to level.
After you are done upgrading your gear talk to the Dwarven King, who will give you quests to do on ⏣ Dwarven Mines, awarding HotM XP, Mining XP and some ᠅ Mithril Powder. The first 4 Commissions done every day grant additional 900 HotM XP.
After doing 3 Commissions, you will reach Heart of the Mountain level 2, which grants 2 Tokens of the Mountain, allowing you to pick 2 additional perks in the HotM menu. Pick Mining Fortune and Titanium Insanium, the first of which will grant you more money and the second will make additional Commissions easier.
After finishing 5 Commissions, you will unlock Emissaries and Royal Compass as well as a ton of Mining XP. Emissaries can also be used to claim the rewards from Commissions, saving you some time. Royal Compass will point to the direction of the nearest Emissary, or the King if he is closer.
Within ⏣ Royal Mines you will find Pure Ore deposits, which while not useful for the Commissions, are the best source of Ore Collections, useful for the aformentioned Accessory Bag.
The End Island - Combat Progression[]
Reaching ⏣ The End requires Combat XII, which can be achieved through multiple ways, one of the most popular ones is slaying Glacite Walkers located at the ⏣ Great Ice Wall, which is directly to the South of ⏣ The Forge. They deal a lot of damage, but can be managed with well enchanted armor.
Another way to level Combat is through the Spiders in the ⏣ Arachne's Burrow.
When levelling Combat, one thing to keep in mind are Slayers, unlocked through Maddox the Slayer. Slayers are a way to unlock many strong items, whether its the Wand of Healing and the Radiant Power Orb or the Terminator and the SOS Flare. Slaying unique Slayer Bosses also grants ☯ Combat Wisdom, which makes levelling Combat permanently faster.
After reaching Combat XII, head back to the Weaponsmith and buy an End Sword. There is no need to enchant it, as it will be replaced very soon, then head straight over to ⏣ The End. Talk to the Lone Adventurer, who tells you everything you need to know about the Island, and offers you a massive upgrade to your weapon arsenal, the Void Sword.
You might have already learned that there is a buy limit to most NPC commodities of 640 items every real-life day. And while this can be annoying for some resources, Experience Bottles are not one of them, since by reaching the Island, you have unlocked a new way to get Experience. On ⏣ The End island, there are few Obsidian or End Stone blocks emitting purple particles. These are Ender Nodes, and they award special loot when mined. The three important ones for now are Grand Experience Bottles, Titanic Experience Bottles and the Ender Gauntlet, which is one of the pieces of Ender Armor that you need to get, if you have been listening to the Lone Adventurer. Be careful however that sometimes mining Ender Nodes can spawn Nest Endermites, which deal 1000 ❁ Damage, which you likely can't survive yet.
However, once you are able to survive them, which you can by getting the full set of Ender Armor you can slay them for money, since Mite Gel, a guaranteed drop, has an NPC sell price of 2,000 coins per piece, which adds up pretty quickly.
Ender Armor and the Dragon Shortbow[]
All Endermen (not Zealots) have a 1/100 chance to drop a piece of Ender Armor and 1/200 to drop Ender Necklace. Considering it's all the same, be sure to slay the ones on the bottom, as they award more Combat XP, Ender Pearls for Collection, coins and drop higher rarity pets. There is in fact no reason to kill the weaker mobs once you are able to One-Shot the stronger ones. However, unless you have dropped the incredibly rare LEGENDARY Enderman Pet, be sure to use a COMMON one, since it levels up much faster and gives the same stats.
As mentioned, Ender Gauntlet is obtained from mining Ender Nodes, the remaining 2 pieces of the set are located in ⏣ Dragon's Nest. The Ender Cloak has a 1/100 chance to be obtained from Watchers and the Ender Belt has a 1/100 chance to be obtained from Obsidian Defenders. Once you have all 8 pieces, talk to Lone Adventurer once again (you might need to leave and re-enter the island). If you have reached Combat XV, you can now unlock a new part of the quest, which unlocks a great early-game Shortbow. After being granted the quest, it will rarely drop from Watchers. After receiving it, you are tasked to give it back to the Lone Adventurer, if you do so, Pearl Dealer will give you your own for free.
