This tutorial is a guide to fighting Kuudra efficiently. It was designed by the Kuudra Gang a while ago. An updated version of it can be found on their discord server which can be found here.
Preperation[]
Classes[]
For average people running Kuudra, players should be running these classes:
- 1 Crowd Control
- 1 Cannoneer
- 2 Specialist
From here on crowd control will be referred as "CC", specialist as "Spec" and canoneer as "Cannon"
1. It is recommend maxing the left side of the Crimson Essence Shop, the perks are very good and not too expensive.
Gear[]
Every Class[]
Items in italics are absolutely required.
- Hyperion
- Terminator [Duplex I]
- Lava Rods
- Remote Perk Shop
- Aspect of the Void
- Golden Dragon Pet
- Precursor Eye
- Plasmaflux or SOS Flare (at least one player)
- Wand of Atonement (or any secondary healing item)
- Terminator [Fatal Tempo]
- Wither Cloak Sword
- Spirit Mask
- Ender Pearls
- Aurora Armor [ Fiery for CC] with Mana Pool, Mana Regen, Vitality, Undead Resistance [Burning Tier or above]
- Terror Armor with Dominance [Burning Tier or above]
1. Everyone except CC should be wearing 3/4 Aurora Armor with a Spirit Mask until stun phase because you can help kill some mobs with the ✎ Intelligence the armor provides, and you have much more survivability when getting supplies/fuel cells.
Stunner[]
- Drill/Gauntlet [High ⸕ Mining Speed]
- Heart of the Mountain tree [⸕ Mining Speed Perks]
- Last Breath
- Axe of the Shredded
- Goldor's Armor + Reaper Mask or Spirit Mask
Stats Configuraion[]
1. Everybody including the CC should be using the Fortuitous Power.
• If the CC is really struggling, they could use demonic, and if they are still struggling then they would need to use sighted/bizarre. However, fortuitous is very good for last phase damage per second.
2. Everybody should use ☣ Crit Chance Enrichments and Critical Chance Tuning Points.
3. You also need 100% ⚔ Bonus Attack Speed, the Terminator paired with the Golden Dragon Pet grants 94. You could use a Beacon V for another 5 and get the remaining 1 from Legion.
Perks[]
- CC - Upgrade Blight Slayer to level 2, save the remaining tokens for Miniature Nukes.
- Spec - Get the level of Steady Hands as high as you can, and upgrade Ballista Mechanic to level 3.
- Cannon - Upgrade Steady Aim as much as you can.
- Stunner (Spec) - Upgrade Ballista Mechanic to level 3, and get the level of Mining Frenzy level as high as you can.
1. Do not level any other perks, they are useless
Dropship Information[]
You will encounter Dropships when playing Kuudra. Here are some ways to combat these:
- If there is only one Dropship, you can either use Cells Alignment if everyone is near each other, and if you are on your own you can use wither cloak.
- If there are multiple Dropships, everyone should go to the place marked "X" (bottom right of ⏣ Kuudra's Hollow) and spam Cells Alignment on each other.
Phase 1[]
This stage is crucial in your success for fast Kuudra runs. As soon as you ready up, every person should go to one of the corners of Kuudra's Hollow, and stand right at the edge as close to the lava as possible. This will ensure that you can reach the supply, as well as lure it towards you as fast as possible. Buy your class with the 50 Tokens from crimson essence shop now.
Once the supply spawns (after about 15s), immediately hook it and start reeling it in. Once you pick it up, throw an Ender Pearl to the middle of the arena by hotkeying to it fast. You can also throw it when you have picked up ~84% on the supply. This allows you to instantly get to middle without having to walk across with 100 ✦ Speed.
- If you are playing CC and get picked up by the tentacle at the start, do not continue trying to collect the supply, as it is not worth it without being specialist/cannon. Instead, you should go to the middle and start to clear mobs when they spawn.
- You can use Ember Armor to drag the supply to the edge of the map where there are no tentacles to pick you up. Drag it through the lava to the border and pick up the supply, you won't get bounced if you are right next to the edge under the blocks.
- If your supply is surrounded by tentacles, but nearby there are no tentacles (for example if Kuudra is there), you can drag the supply there.
Cannon Cancelling[]
To cannon cancel, simply drag the supply next to a cannon and hold right click on the cannon - when a tentacle picks you up you will have a chance to not be thrown into the air due to being on the cannon.
Safe Spots[]
In the arena, there are a couple of places to stand where you will never get picked up by kuudra tentacles.
Both of these blocks will guarantee you to not be picked up. However, you must stand in the corner of the block.
You must stand on this exact block to not get picked up by the tentacles. However, you do not have to be at the corner. Therefore, in order to grab the supply, you will have to crouch on the edge of the block to reach it. This one only works if there isnt a big tentacle in front of it, the big tentacle will always pick you up.
You can always bring the supply chest around a tentacle using a rod by going into the lava. Make sure to cloak as the lava does a lot of damage.
Phase 2[]
By this point you should have collected all the supplies. CC should clear mobs and spec/cannon should build. If no mobs are alive, CC can obviously also help build.
- If at any time Wandering Blazes spawn during the ballista building phase, people should use a Fire Veil Wand in combination with a Hyperion to deal with them.
Phase 3 | Burning+[]
Specialist[]
The specialist will be the stunner. You should immediately buy a Human Cannonball from the shop. This will let you enter Kuudra from one of the cannons at the side. Left click the cannon and aim at Kuudra (do not aim too high, aim in the middle of the magma cube). You should see pink tendrils hanging from the ceiling once inside.
https://i.imgur.com/uSsQxym.jpeg Standing on the block highlighted in the image will allow you to mine the blocks and not take any knockback from the Magma Bacteria. Etherwarp onto it, but don't move after that. You have to be in the exact middle of the block to not take knockback (teleportation abilities automatically set you in the center of the block). Immediately start mining the pods to break them.
Insta Stunning[]
Insta stunning allows you to mine the Kuudra Pod instantly, like how gold blocks in the ⏣ Mines of Divan instantly break. You need ~36k ⸕ Mining Speed to do this as well as Mining Frenzy 1. You can swap to Divan's Armor, Blaze Pet, etc. to get more mining speed.
The other 2 specialists and CC should go to the side of Kuudra and equip 3/4 Terror Armor and Precursor Eye. You should also take out 16x Toxic Arrow Poison as this will let you 1 phase without ballista.
As soon as the stunner stuns, everyone should immediately start shooting Kuudra with a Duplex Terminator and spamming shift for the Precursor Eye beam.
It is important for the people shooting Kuudra to have 100% ⚔ Bonus Attack Speed.
Animation Skip[]
To skip the Kuudra dying animation and get instantly teleported to phase 4, the stunner should use a Sinseeker Scythe just before Kuudra dies. This will let you get tp'ed back into Kuudra's belly after it has died, therefore teleporting you into phase 4.
Kuudra should die now. If your team failed one phase, the stunner should go back inside and immediately stun again, so your team can finish it off. Do not instantly kill it if it is a 2 phase, wait ~5 seconds after stun before you start shooting.
Video[]
An example of a player stunning Kuudra can be seen below.
Phase 4 | Infernal[]
- This phase is exclusive to the Infernal tier.
As soon as Kuudra is killed in phase 3, everyone should use a Ragnarock Axe. This allows you to use it multiple times in phase 4.
Kuudra will emerge from the lava at random times allowing you to shoot him. Swap out your Precursor Eye for a Warden Helmet.
The person with the worst gear (e.g. no Fatal Tempo, least starred Terror Armor) should use Last Breath on Kuudra (shoot 3x if Duplex, 5x without). However, the stunner should never LB as others have Terror stacks from Kuudra, so if the person with the worst gear is stunning then go for the second worst.
Everyone else (and the player who lb'ed after they are done) should be shooting Kuudra with a Terminator and wearing Terror Armor. Fatal Tempo does work here. If you have Fatal Tempo you should shoot a few shots then swap to your Duplex Terminator. You can also shoot tentacles with fatal tempo whilst Kuudra is the wall.
Make sure you use all of your damage increasing abilities, e.g Sword of Bad Health, Ragnarock Axe. You can also take advantage of the ability of Reaper Armor. Swap to it when Kuudra is in the wall, shift, and then quickly swap back to Terror. This will grant you +100 weapon damage and Strength.
- Warning! If you leave the Kuudra instance whilst holding a Last Breath, your top left inventory item gets wiped so do not have anything important in your top left inventory slot.
