Currently, there are 6 types of Slayers : Zombie (Revenant Horror), Spider (Tarantula Broodfather), Wolf (Sven Packmaster), Enderman (Voidgloom Seraph), Blaze(Inferno Demonlord) and Vampire(Riftstalker Bloodfiend). This tutorial is a guide about how to beat each slayer type.
Revenant Horror[]
The most annoying part for this boss is the Pestilence for Tier II
, Tier III
and Tier IV
and Explosive Assault for Tier V
.
Tier I
, II
and III
: These levels are pushovers, Ender Armor and a Raider Axe is sufficient. However, if you find yourself struggling against a Tier III
, it's recommended to upgrade to a Dragon Armor variant and aim for around 100 Magical Power with Silky power.
Tier IV
: Significantly tougher than the Tier III
, the Tier IV
requires more expensive setups. One of the cheap options is a 3/4 Strong Dragon Armor with a Tarantula Helmet to synergize with the armor's high strength, an Aspect of the Dragons or a Revenant Falchion / Reaper Falchion is also advised as the Tier IV
has a lot of health and damage, another cheap option is to use the Revenant set and maybe a Zombie's Heart or Crystallized Heart. Healing items such as the Wand of Healing and its upgraded variants and a Radiant Power Orb is useful if you find yourself lacking regeneration. Also, when the Tier IV
enters the Enraged mode, leave ASAP because it does massive amounts of damage, you can see if the Revenant Horror is enraged by the color of its chestplate (turns red). However, if you are quick, you can kill the boss before it has the chance to enter Enraged mode. Aim for around 250 Magical Power and go for Bloody, preferably Itchy power.
Tier V
: Another huge step up from the Tier IV
, the Tier V
boasts an impressive 10 million HP and immunity to ๑ Ability Damage. It also possesses unique abilities such as TNT Rain and a devastating explosion every 30 seconds that kills anyone regardless of equipment. Late game gear is often required to even defeat this boss consistently. Aim for around 600 Magical Power and Bloody, preferably Itchy power. The recommended are the following:
- Necron's Armor provides a massive damage boost
- Reaper Armor, while worse for damage, provides way better survivability
- Giant's Sword, out-damages a Reaper Falchion, but not an Axe of the Shredded.
- If you are already Zombie Slayer 8, an Axe of the Shredded is an amazing option with the bonus damage and damage reduction as well as the 50 ❤ Health per hit.
- Warden Helmet is an amazing, yet extremely expensive option for damage.
- Necron's or Tarantula Helmet can be used as helmets for damage, player can also use Zombie's Heart's upgrades for healing
- LEGENDARY Blue Whale Pet and Baby Yeti Pet are good survivability pets at the cost of reduced damage.
- If player is looking for damage instead, they can use any of the following: Wither Skeleton Pet, Tiger Pet, Lion Pet, Ender Dragon, Golden Dragon Pet.
- Stand at iron bars to nullify the TNTs.
- You can also boss trade with another player if you both deal enough damage, and this will significantly lower the time it takes to kill the Tier
V
, however as of a recent patch, each kill can only gives 50% of the xp required to spawn a boss.
Tarantula Broodfather[]
The two abilities of the boss can be annoying for some.
Tier I
and II
: Like the previous slayers, these tiers are relatively easy. As long as you got enough damage per second, even Ender Armor and Raider Axe is enough to consistently defeat them.
Tier III
: Boasting a higher DPS than at Tier II
, it'll often shred even those in Dragon Armor. As such, Spider-specialized gear, such as a decently leveled Recluse Fang and Tarantula Armor is often recommended. If one is still struggling, aim for around 100 Magical Power and Silky power.
Tier IV
: Like the Tier III
, it requires high damage and ❤ Effective Health to survive. If you find yourself dying even with Tarantula Armor, it's recommended to get more kills to level up the armor's defense or get a better weapon to deal more damage. A Livid Dagger and/or a Shadow Fury is a popular choice as these swords boast impressive damage and easy to obtain. If you have completed The Catacombs - Floor V and have decent enough coins, Shadow Assassin Armor Pieces is high recommended. Since you do need a relatively large amount of XP to summon the boss, a Flower of Truth or Frozen Scythe is also recommended because the former one can one shot 3 spiders at once, and the latter one can pierce lots of spiders when used properly. Aim for around 300 Magical Power and Bloody, preferably Itchy power.
Sven Packmaster[]
The two abilities of the boss can be annoying for some.
Tier I
and II
: Like the previous slayers, these often serve as stepping stones towards tougher tiers of the boss. However, from Tier II and above, the Sven will do ✷ True Damage and you need to be more careful.
Tier III
and IV
: Due to their unique trait of dealing ✷ True Damage, you have less ❤ Effective Health against them. One options is getting Mastiff Armor and rely on the full set's Ability Absolute Unit . Although your ☠ Crit Damage is halved, this can be mitigated by using a Pooch Sword, but a Livid Dagger is generally recommended regardless. Wolf Pet's second perk Pack Leader becomes more useful due to the presence of the Packmaster's pups registering as nearby wolves. Also, Sorrow Armor can be useful against Sven Packmaster if Damage and Effective Health is decent. Aim for around 325 Magical Power and Bloody, preferably Itchy power.
Voidgloom Seraph[]
The most annoying part for this boss is the Malevolent Hitshield, which activates when the boss is first spawned, reaches 66% health, and when it reaches 33% health. This slows down the entire fight and deal tons of damage in exchange for the hits instead of damage. Additionally, healing enchantments such as Life Steal do not work during this phase, making it even harder to deal with for lower-skill players.
Tier I
: Unlike the first three slayers, The Tier I
Voidgloom Seraph isn't a pushover and requires some decent gear to beat effectively. It has 300k health and 1,200 damage per hit. Mid game gear, such as Shadow Assassin Armor with Livid Dagger, or magic gear, such as Wise Dragon Armor and Aurora Staff, are good options. If one has Ender Armor with Titanic reforge and an Aspect of the Dragons with the Fabled reforge, they might be able to take down a Tier I
Voidgloom Seraph. Aim for around 200 Magical Power and Bloody, preferably Itchy power. If one is going for magic gear, go for Sighted instead.
Tier II
: The Tier II
Voidgloom Seraph is a massive step up from the Tier I
Voidgloom Seraph and requires good mid-game gear and a lot of practice to beat consistently. For the Tier II
of the Voidgloom Seraph, at the very least you should be using maxed out 3/4 Shadow Assassin Armor and 2/4 Shadow Assassin Armor with a Zombie Knight Chestplate , all reforged to either Ancient or Fierce with one of the helmets that doubles your ♨ Vitality (Zombie's Heart, Crystallized Heart, Revived Heart or Reaper Mask) However, 3/4 Necron Armor with a Reaper Mask is a much safer and effective option. Some players may not need to use one of the zombie helmets but it is generally recommended to use it. If survivability is still an issue, reforging the armor to Giant or swap in a few pieces of armor that focus on EHP such as Goldor Armor can be a good option, but this will lower the damage dealt by a noticable amount, making bosses take longer. Healing items such as the Wand of Restoration or Wand of Atonement and Ornate Zombie Sword or Florid Zombie Sword as well as ♨ Vitality also play an important role during the boss fight, especially when meleeing the boss during the hits phase and using lower-end gear. A Radiant Power Orb or Mana Flux Power Orb are also useful during the fight. The Voidedge Katana is the recommended weapon for fighting the boss as it deals extra damage to enderman and reduces damage taken from them. On top of that, the ability can come in handy when meleeing the way through the hits phase. If a Voidedge Katana is not owned, any mid game sword such as a Shadow Fury or Felthorn Reaper should be fine. Aim for around 400 Magical Power and select the Bloody, preferably Itchy power. For the pet, using a rare or above Enderman Pet is very cost effective and reduces damage taken from mobs in The End (which includes the Voidgloom Seraph) as well as providing some crit damage. Alternatively, a Blue Whale Pet can be used if surviving is an issue, or use a damage-focused pet like a Legendary Wither Skeleton Pet if the bosses are consistent and one strive for a faster boss time.
For the hits phase, a necromancy item such as the Necromancer Sword, that has at least two Tank Zombie souls, can be bought. When the hits phase occurs simply spawn the Tank Zombies and stand back. It is also possible to get through the hits phase using bows(regardless they are shortbow or not) or just meleeing the boss, but using bows can be risky if the boss catches up to you, and meleeing the boss usually requires high amounts of survivability. These can be countered by standing on a high ledge and maximizing ♨ Vitality stats respectively. If one is meleeing the boss during the hits phase, they can try to use the healing wand once and hit the boss as many times as they can in quick sucession as the hitshield has no invulnerability frames. If the healing wand expires, simply use it again and resume hitting the boss. If the Voidedge Katana is used, always keep the ability active as this will speed up the process of destroying the hits phase by a lot. Starting at 6M health, the boss will also start throwing Yang Glyphs in random directions in a small radius periodically, which are beacon blocks that kill after five seconds if not broken in time. To break Yang Glyphs, simply stand next to or on top of them. Using something like an Aspect of the End can help with this. Note that the boss will not throw Yang Glyphs during the hits phase, but pre-existing Yang Glyphs that were thrown before the hits phase started can still kill you. During the entire fight, try the best to keep a constant DPS, only pausing if a heal-up or destroying a Yang Glyph is needed. If the health drops faster than it regerates, make sure to have a healing wand whenever possible.
Tier III
: The jump of difficulty from Tier II
to III
is also very big. For this boss, Wolf Pet and strong Necromancy souls with high ❤ Health (preferably Floor 3 Tank Zombie or Floor 5 Super Tank Zombie souls). Also, Final Destination Armor with more than 10,000 kills is highly suggested for this Slayer because of its tank and damage stat boosts. Aim for around 500 Magical Power and Itchy Power.
Tier IV
: one of the most difficult bosses in the game. it has all the perks of the previous tiers before it as well as having the ability to go invulnerable and launch beams that deal damage. Having Necromancy souls is a must for this boss unless having maxed Skills(using Explosive Arrows on Shortbows can also be used to destroy the Hitshield). It's recommended to upgrade to an Atomsplit Katana and stack at least 25,000 kills on Final Destination Armor for maximum defense. Other options for survivability include Overflux Power Orb or a Plasmaflux Power Orb, a Soul Whip with Mana Steal and Sapphire Scroll to restore mana, Wand of Atonement or Suspicious Scylla for more healing, and Wither Cloak Sword to mitigate a Yang Glyph. Also, a Warden Helmet and Necron's Armor Pieces are great unless you are not able to survive. Magical Power and Accessory Power doesn't need a upgrade but if one struggles, getting an Ender Artifact(preferably during Mayor Scorpius for less cost) can make the process easier. Always remember try to get hit by ONLY the dissonance damage as the damage will be effectively tripled if one gets hit twice per second, making the fight a lot more unmanageable.
Inferno Demonlord[]
The most annoying part for this boss is the Immolate which deals ✷ True Damage and the Hellion Shield for Tier II
or above which only allows Blaze Slayer Daggers to deal enough damage.
Tier I
: Relatively easy until you reach the second phase, which splits the boss into two, which both have separate abilities. Because the two demons deal massive damage, it's recommended to stand on a high platform to completely avoid their attacks.
Tier II
: This boss gains Hellion Shield, meaning it only takes proper damage from Twilight and Firedust Dagger and it's upgrades' attunement, requiring you to swap between attunements to properly deal damage to the boss.
The Attunement pattern is as follows: Ashen-Spirit-Auric-Crystal and repeat.
at this stage, the boss can summon a Fire Pillar, which functions similarly to the Voidgloom Seraph's Yang Glyph except it can only be taken down by hits while having a Wisp Pet equipped, If one doesn't have a Wisp Pet or uses a pet that focus on Damage, you can simply use a Wither Cloak Sword to eat up the exploding fire pillar's damage, However, this requires timing.
Tier III
and Tier IV
: At Tier III
, the two Demons gain new mechanics, making standing a top a high platform not feasible, requiring you to fight the demons head on, with , Quazii emits a wall of laser beams spinning around it's body that deals 75% of your max health in True Damage, while Typhoeus deals even more damage with it's basic attacks. After dropping below a certain health, the main slayer boss summons Fire Pits that melt your health bar if you stand on it, requiring you to stay aware of where you stand. For this tier it is recommended to go for either 3/4 Frozen Blaze armor or 3/4 Burning tier Crimson Armor with a Warden Helmet with a full Vanquisher Set reforged to Strengthened. Since the sorrow nerf, 1/2 sorrow armor + crimson boots is no longer viable, but if you struggle with True Defense a sorrow chestplate is good to have.
It is also important to upgrade to Tier 2 Daggers, the Kindlebane and the Mawdredge because of the health increase of the boss. Healing items are also crucial to survival, a wither blade with wither impact on it (especially Scylla) is required, a Florid Zombie Sword and the Wand of Atonement is also good to have. Some sort of deployable such as the Plasmaflux or Flares is also greatly recommended.
The core stat relevant to Blaze Slayer is ❂ True Defense, ♨ Vitality and high damage.
Riftstalker Bloodfiend[]
Because most of the items are not allowed in the Rift Dimension, this slayer is highly based on skill and feel of the player. Before starting any bosses, make sure to activate the effigies as they give a massive ❁ Rift Damage boost.
Tier I
: With the Healing Melon crafted in the Maddox's quest, this boss should be relatively easy. Make sure to stay in the green circle during Mania attack and not get stopped by the boss's damage.
Tier II
: This boss starts to get his Twinclaws attack, which deals one of the most damage in the boss fight. A Holy Ice is recommended to reduce its damage. A sound is played before the Twinclaws attack, use the Holy Ice when the sound is heard. Stay near the Clotgoyles' heads when the Stonewrath ability is used and leave after a few seconds to not take damage. If one still struggles, an Anti-Bite Scarf, a Silver-Laced Karambit and/or a Juicy Healing Melon is recommended. Get a Steak Stake if you struggle as the final part is where it's hard, and the Steak Stake skips 20% of the boss fight at the end.
Tier III
: Starting from this tier, with the additional Mania phase, BE SURE not to let the Clotgoyles alive during the second Mania attack. It is very dangerous as Clotgoyles deals knockback, which can knock players off in Mania attacks. Make a Mythic Version Anti-Bite Scarf, Luscious Healing Melon and/or a Silver-Twist Karambit if one struggles. Follow the Impels to not lose ❤ Hearts. Don't follow others' action to do Impels as Impels are different from every player. With good ⚡ Mana Regen and ❁ Rift Damage, this boss shouldn't be too much of an issue. Get a Steak Stake if you haven't already as it is extraordinarily helpful for skipping the hardest part. Prioritize the Killer Spring as it represents death when not destroyed.
Tier IV
: This is where people starts to struggle. Upgrade your Silver-Laced Karambit to a Silver-Twist Karambit and your Juicy Healing Melon to a Luscious Healing Melon if you haven't already. Upgrade your Anti-Bite Scarf to its Mythic Version. Bear in mind that Twinclaws can be thrown during Mania phase, so keep your mana above ~70 during this phase in case something goes wrong or lag occurrs. If one has tried Tier IV
on another profile and knows the boss cycle, the only paid item required to complete the boss is a Holy Ice.
Tier V
: It is not recommended to do Tier V
s unless one has really low budget to get Coven Seals or one wants the SkyBlock XP. This boss is highly-feelbased. It isn't recommended to do Tier V
s without the maxed Rift Dimension gear. Blood Ichors should be destroyed via the boss's Twinclaws as soon as possible otherwise it drains your ❤ Hearts and eventually kills you even with Holy Ice. You have to tank the Twinclaws during this process to destroy the Ichors, so you are required to have a Holy Ice. Be sure to do all Impels as it instantly kills you if they aren't done, even with a Holy Ice. Unless being at the edge of death, do NOT use the Healing Melon too frequently as it drains your mana, which reduces your survivability when getting low on ❤ Hearts. In most cases, prioritize with the following order:
Impel > Blood Ichors > Killer Spring > Clotgoyles > Twinclaws
