Sugar Cane Farm
A sugar cane farm is one of the most profitable farms you can have. You can use any item with telekinesis to harvest sugar cane, but it's still recommended to actually use a sugar cane hoe because you get multiple sugar cane per hit. (Farming fortune)
Materials
- Dirt
- Sugar cane
- Glowstone or sea lanterns
- Slabs
Building the Farm
- Get your dirt. Place 2 rows of dirt as long as you can, until the island border limit.
- Fly under the rows, and place 2 dirt blocks on both of the bottom of the rows.
- Do not destroy the light source block, but destroy step 2's dirt block.
- Extend the light source block in the same direction as the dirt rows previously placed. It should be the same length.
- Repeat steps 1-5 until the island border limit.
- If the last row you were able to place was the light source blocks on either side, remove only that row.
- On the ends of the light source blocks, place a dirt block on both sides on all light block rows.
- Get a magical water bucket and put water on all of the light source block rows, so that it creates a canal.
- plant the sugar cane (only one) on each dirt block
- Put your slabs and light block in between the rows of sugar cane, two blocks above the water canals.
Tips
- It's recommended to get yourself prismapumps, an InfiniDirt™ Wand and a Builder's Wand in order to speed up the building process.
- Since you can't plant sugar cane using the basket of seeds, be prepared for having to spend hours on planting sugar cane.
- You'll likely want to build more than one layer, so a Repelling Candle is optional to prevent mobs from spawning in the dark.
- An optional step is to make the bottom layer of the farm something other than dirt, which prevents you from accidently breaking 2 layers of dirt when building. However, this is optional and simply making the bottom layer dirt is cheaper.
