Tools are pretty varied in Skyblock, Pickaxes, Axes, Shovels, Hoes and Fishing Rods being included in this category. Fishing Rods have by far the most custom variants, the rest lacking severely.

Pickaxes

• The Diamond Pickaxe is the best pickaxe to get if you want to mine ores. Enchant it with Efficiency V and Fortune III.
• The Gold Pickaxe is better than the Diamond variant at mining Stone or Cobblestone. An Efficiency 5 Gold Pick combined with Haste 3 potions is enough to instantly mine through Cobblestone.
• The Stonk is an EPIC Efficiency 6 Gold Pickaxe that cannot summon Endermites from End Stone. Due to its high efficiency level, you only need Haste 2 to instamine Cobblestone, which means a Miner's Outfit is enough.
• The Promising Pickaxe is helpful for getting access to the Deep Caverns.
• When you are starting in the Dwarven Mines it's recommended to just get the Fractured Mithril Pickaxe.
• Mithril and Titanium Pickaxes, as well as drills are now the best tools for mining in the game.

Axes

• The Gold Axe is the best vanilla Axe. In combination with a Haste 3 potion, it can instamine logs.
• The Jungle Axe is a Wooden Axe that mines multiple logs at once. It can be used in combo with the Golden Axe for even more logs, since it does have a Cooldown.
• The Treecapitator is a Gold Axe with a stronger version of the Jungle Axe's ability. Any player that's planning to grind  Foraging for a long amount of time should definitely get this.

Shovels

• The Gold Shovel is the best, insta-mining Dirt, Sand and others with only Efficiency II.
• The Promising Shovel is a decent alternative to the Gold one very early on, although you are more likely to get a gold shovel first.
• The Flint Shovel ensures you will only get Flint from Gravel. It can also be used as an upgrade on Gravel Minions.

Hoes / Farming Tools

• The Rookie Hoe gives a 50% chance to get more seeds, which up until the Jacob update, made it the best hoe available. Recommended for Early to Mid-Game players. (the vanilla hoes have no special properties).
• The best hoes in the game are crafted using a Mathematical Hoe Blueprint and 512 Wheat, Carrots, Potatoes, Sugar Cane, or Nether Wart.
• Other farming tools can be purchased from Anita for 1 Gold Medal and 32 Jacobs Tickets

Fishing Rods

Early-Mid Game

• Challenging Rod and later Rod of Champions are both pretty good and not that expensive.
• Winter Rod is good if you're planning on fishing on the Jerry Island.

Late-End Game

• Shredder and Yeti Rod have the highest ☂ Fishing Speed out of any rods, and are both LEGENDARY.
• The Rod of the Sea is often considered the best Rod due to its high α Sea Creature Chance.
• The Auger Rod triples the chance to find Winter Sea Creatures if you are planning to fish on Jerry's Pond.
