Collection

Tips

• Wheat is farmable on Hub Island, ⏣ The Barn, and ⏣ The Garden.
  • Hub Island hosts the best public Wheat farming spot. The Hub Selector can be used to switch quickly between lobbies, allowing quick access to large, fully stocked Wheat fields. This practice is affectionately known as "hub-swapping".
  • ⏣ The Barn is one of the least efficient farming zones due to its small size and high population. New players may wish to consider farming in ⏣ The Barn due to its access to several collections at once, but it is not a more efficient Wheat farm than the Hub.
• Wheat's compressed form is first  Hay Bale, then  Enchanted Hay Bale, and finally  Tightly-Tied Hay Bale. Originally, a Personal Compactor did not allow Hay Bales to be compacted from  9x Wheat, forcing Hay Bales to be crafted manually. This was changed in the Dec 3, 2020 Update, where a Hay Bale can now be placed in a Personal Compactor to automatically craft more.
  • Prior to this, the only item that could compress Wheat in a Personal Compactor was  Enchanted Bread, one of the weakest Minion Fuels, and sells to NPCs and the Bazaar for very few coins. While this may have been the easier option, and perhaps a choice for efficiency in Jacob's Farming Contests, this was inefficient in farming Wheat for profit.
    • Interestingly, a Wheat Minion will make Enchanted Bread with a Super Compactor 3000 instead of Hay Bales, Enchanted Hay Bales, and Tightly-Tied Hay Bales, because a regular Compactor is needed to make the Hay Bales. Due to a glitch, even if the player places a Compactor in the minion, the minion will still only make Hay Bales and its upgrades when the player is online, as if the Compactor is disabled by the Super Compactor 3000 when the player is offline.
• The hitbox on the Wheat crop is different in different Minecraft versions. In Minecraft Version 1.9+, the crop hitbox increases with the growth of the crop. This makes it far easier to farm Wheat, as the player has a larger target to click on.
  • Modifying Minecraft Version 1.8.x to increase the size of the hitbox may be considered a bannable modification, so if players wish for the larger crop hitbox, using Minecraft 1.9+ is the only legitimate way to achieve that goal.
